Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie sighed as he looked at the report. Fenig Durak had apparently decided to get herself into a fight the night before. He sighed and sent a quick .txt message to her comm system to come to his office.
Fenig Durak: Fenig got it the second she was signing in to check her messages. She was expecting one from Hobbie, she was expecting to be put on suspension again. So, leaving all else on pause for the moment, she rose and trudged to his office
Fenig Durak: pushing the door buzzer when she got there.
Hobbie Klivian: "Come."
Fenig Durak: She entered on cue and snapped to her best salute. "Sir?"
Hobbie Klivian: He returned it, then waved a hand at a chair before his desk as the door closed. He rose and went to sit in the other chair so they sat facing eachother, no desk between them.
Fenig Durak: She sat and crossed her legs, offering no arrogant, detatched look, nor any anger or defensiveness. Quite the opposite really. "Sir, I'm sorry. My behavior was atrocious. No way for me to have behaved."
Hobbie Klivian: "Cut the formality, Feni..." he shook his head sadly and looked at her, "What happened?"
Fenig Durak: Her jaw tightened as she clearly didn't want to go into detail here. "I'm sorry Hobbie. What's my punishment?"
Hobbie Klivian: "Well, the punishment should fit the crime... but I don't really know what the crime was. I have the report," he waved a hand at the desk, "Plus a lodged complaint from the other combatant. I'd *like* to know your side of the story."
Fenig Durak: "What did she say?"
Hobbie Klivian: "Something along the lines of unprovoked argument and undue fistfight force..." he shook his head. "I know you, Fenig, or at least like to think I do. I'm sure it wasn't unprovoked. What happened?"
Fenig Durak: "She said that?! What a liar! She threw the first punch!" She sighed heavily and sank into a sulk worthy of Hobbie. "I oughta teach her how to throw a good punch."
Hobbie Klivian: "You oughtn't be fighting at all," he reached forward and put a friendly hand on her knee. "What really happend, Fen?"
Fenig Durak: She searched his face a moment, despising that he had such a way of makin gher open up, even against her will. Just like he was doing now. But she loved him so much, and considered him one ofher best friends. "It's stupid, Hobbs.   Something I really shouldn't have gotten so mad over."
Hobbie Klivian: He sat back and just looked at her.
Fenig Durak: She sighed and stared back in his eyes. "I see what you're doing, Hobbie. I don't like it. It's working, but I still don't like it."
Hobbie Klivian: That had to make him smile. "Well, if you don't want to tell me, since I have no choice in writing you up, I understand.... but I don't like that you were fighting with someone for seemingly no reason. I know there's a reason, and as your friend, I'm asking you to share that reason with me."
Fenig Durak: She looked down at her hands and nodded. "I understand." When she looked back up, she seemed more drawn and tired. "Off the record?"
Hobbie Klivian: "Of course."
Fenig Durak: She sighed and tried for a moment, to find the right words. "She was making comments about one of the pilots that weren't appropriate in my hanger. I asked her to save it until her break and she didn't seem to agree."
Hobbie Klivian: "And that threw you two into a nek-fight?" he shook his head. "What else?"
Fenig Durak: Her jaw tightened hard enough that she was forced to open her mouth and relieve the pressure off her teeth. "That was prety much it."
Hobbie Klivian: He shook his head again, "I don't believe you, but I respect your privacy." He sighed. "Off the record, I'm sorry it happened, and please, *please* don't be getting into any more fights?"  He paused, "On the record....I'm not putting you on probation, but I do have to write you up."
Fenig Durak: "I expected as much." She uncrossed and then recrossed her legs in the oposite direction. She wanted to tell him, so badly did she want to. It just didn't seem right in some way.  "Hobbie?" That's it, she's telling him
Hobbie Klivian: He raised an eyebrow.
Fenig Durak: "She was telling a coworker what she would do to Wes when she got the chance and when I asked her to save it, she said that I was jealous that she could keep his attention when I had lost his so quickly." She bit on her thimbnail, fidgeting quite obviously.
Hobbie Klivian: He frowned, "Really...."
Fenig Durak: She nodded. "I mean, I can see kind of where she's coming from, but it still made me so mad." Forcing her hands back to her lap, she winced at her next thought. "Made me jealous of Siee's Force talent for a split second."
Hobbie Klivian: He nodded, a flicker of confused pain passing briefly behind his eyes. He'd tried to get in touch with Siee since the 'incident', but she never responded to the concerned messages he'd left on her machine. He'd stopped leaving them. "I can see why you asked her to stop. OTR, I'm glad you stopped the fight, but I'm still concerned about your fighting."  He paused, looking at her concernedly, "Will you at least *try* not to get into any more fistfights?"
Fenig Durak: "I promise it won't happen again. I swear it." She sat up to lean elbows on her knees. "Becacuse instead of transferring her, you're going to transfer me." The solution to two problems.
Hobbie Klivian: "Just why would I be transferring you?"
Fenig Durak: "So that woman and I don't butt heads anymore. I know her. She's not going to drop it, but she's good with the droids. That's rare. But finding a good mechanic isn't so hard."
Hobbie Klivian: "Finding one that can put up with Gavin and me busting up our fighters all the time is even rarer," his eyes *almost* twinkled.
Fenig Durak: And it got a shoulder chuckle out of her. "Hobbie, why can't all men be more like you?"
Hobbie Klivian: That took him aback. "Uh... because then the Human race would die out?" he half smiled.
Fenig Durak: "Oh hush. IF Wes had half the qualities that you've got, then he'd have married a long time ago and I wouldn't be in this mess."
Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie didn't have an answer for that. He couldn't help but think that if this was the case, then why wasn't *he* the one with .... he shut that train of thought down but good. "Anything I can do to help you two?"
Fenig Durak: "Yeah, trasnfer me. That way I'm not ruining his life." She meant it. IT was in the strength in her eyes and the straight faced seriousness she wore.
Hobbie Klivian: "I won't do that... but maybe I can beat some sense into him?" Hobbie seemed to seriously be considering doing just that.
Fenig Durak: She shook her head. "No, really, it's not a big deal. I'll figure something out."
Hobbie Klivian: "If there is anything I can do for you, Fen, don't hesitate to ask. That's an order."
Fenig Durak: She quirked a brow. "An order? Alright then, come out with me one night. I don't like how you shut yourself away from the rest of us."
Hobbie Klivian: He sighed and looked down at his hands for an inordinate amount of time before finally speaking into the suffocating silence. "Alright... sometime."
Fenig Durak: "Soon. Sometime soon." She smiled softly, trying to convey to Hobbie how much his friendship means to her.
Hobbie Klivian: "On condition you don't rise to any more occasions that could hurt that child," he motioned to her stomach as he looked up. "Tell me about 'em and I"ll take care of them. Okay?"
Fenig Durak: She nodded, "Of course. I should have done that this time, but it didn't occur to me until I knocked her on her ass"
Hobbie Klivian: He chuckled
Fenig Durak: "Oh I wish you had seen it! Her feet flew up from under her and she landed in a pool of coolant. Abrasive coolant." She'd already taken care of the party who had spilled the coolant and not cleaned it up. "Ate a hole right to the pretty bum Wes has complimented." Oh she was proud of that.
Hobbie Klivian: "I beg your pardon?" he looked at her curiously.
Fenig Durak: "She fell on her butt and the coolant she sat in ate through her coveralls and underwear. She got it rinsed off before it hurt her skin though."
Hobbie Klivian: "No, that last part...."
Fenig Durak: "About the compliment?" She knew she should have shut her mouth.
Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie frowned.
Fenig Durak: She sighed. "This all started that day Siee left for Yavin. I had left the Solo's early and went to work, then Wes came to get an X-Wing for Siee and I guess flirted a bit with the droid tech. After he left, she started talking to her friend and that's when I overheard what she was saying"
Hobbie Klivian: So that's where Siee'd gone. Ah well, he should be used to this by now. "He shouldn't have done that," he was still frowning. "I'll talk to him."
Fenig Durak: "Don't. He's just being Wes." She shook her head.
Hobbie Klivian: "You sure?" he was still frowning. Wes, you know if you hurt this girl I'll make you regret it... you knew from the get go.
Fenig Durak: "I"m sure. I knew what he was like getting into it and so I'm keeping my expectations low." It tore her up to say that. She knew that Wes was a great guy. One of the best.
Hobbie Klivian: He gave a resigned sigh then aquisced. "Alright. But if he hurts you, you tell me, okay?"
Fenig Durak: "I doubt it'll come to that. But were something to happen between our child and him, you'll be the first to hear about it. The only one ot hear about it." Y'know that feeling where you want to tear your skin off and put it through ultra hot wash to get all the heebie jeebies and ickiness gone? Yeah.
Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie nodded. He also could tell that she wanted a subject change. He did too. "By the way, she's already been transferred."
Fenig Durak: "Oh yeah? That was fast. Where to?" She breathed a sigh of releif and reminded herself to get something nice for Hobbie.
Hobbie Klivian: "Kuat," his eyes twinkled.  "They build ships there... ships need 'mechs. She'll be too busy to gossip, or try to steal anyone away from anyone else."
Fenig Durak: HEr eyes went superwide. "That far? Gods, Hobbie. I was jsut expecting another squadron based on Coruscant or something."
Hobbie Klivian: "Hey, I'm not entirely evil... she's got family there too. Now you're happy, and she's out of the way and moderately so."
Hobbie Klivian: He shrugged.
Fenig Durak: She wasn't all that happy about it, but what could she do? Nothing. "Hobbie, you're wonderful."
Hobbie Klivian: "I'm not, but thanks," he chuckled. "You sure you don't have a sister?" he couldn't help his wink.
Fenig Durak: "If I did, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to set her up with you. You're feisty." HEr turn to wink.
Hobbie Klivian: "Feisty? That's the first time that word's been used to describe me, I'm sure."
Fenig Durak: "That and I'm sure at one point or another I'd want to beat her butt in for hurting you." Or jealousy.
Hobbie Klivian: "Well, we can't have that, now... maybe I can find a cloning tank," he chuckled almost mirthlessly. Okay, Hobbie, STOP that train of thought, stupid Ralltiirian!
Fenig Durak: "You seriously think that one of me isn't enough to tear down Coruscant and rebuild it better?"
Hobbie Klivian: "So, Siee went to Yavin?"
Fenig Durak: "Yeah, last fourthday. Kyp was pretty insistent that she go too. I imagine that Wes was as well."
Hobbie Klivian: "Kyp go too?" Hobbie's voice betrayed his dislike for the young Jedi.
Fenig Durak: She shook her head. "Not yet he hasn't." She frowned deeply, scooting her chair closer to Hobbie's so they were knee to knee. "I know that y'all don't like him, but he's really not that bad. I can tell that he's really sorry for
Fenig Durak: all that he's done."
Hobbie Klivian: "So was Vader, and that didn't bring anyone's life back," Hobbie sighed. Didn't bring Marcus or Kerren, or my dad back....   Absently, he pulled a small necklace from beneath the neck of his flightsuit, and twirled the charm on it in his fingers as he spiraled into thought.
Fenig Durak: "I know, but Vader didn't apologize until he was dying. Kyp's got a great headstart on Vader. I'm asking you as someone who loves you and someone who cares for Kyp, give him a try until he leaves? Please?" She admired the chain, but left her obvious question unasked.
Hobbie Klivian: "I won't be discourteous... but I won't trust him either," he conceeded. he saw her looking at his necklace, and flushed slightly before dropping it, but not back beneath his shirt.
Fenig Durak: Once his hands were free, she took gentle hold of them. "That's all I can ask you to do. I'm just hoping eventually you'll like him as much as you like me. You're my best friend, Hobbs. You're irreplacable."
Hobbie Klivian: He smiled slightly, and squeesed her hands in silent thanks. Anything he could say got stuck in his throat, so he just looked down at the floor.
Fenig Durak: Alright, she realized that she might have crossed a line there and retracted her hands from his, but only after one last squeeze. "What's on your agenda for today?"
Hobbie Klivian: "Same thing that's on my agenda every day. Work."  He sat back, absently fiddling with his necklace again. It was a habit he'd had for years, now.... He usually didn't even know when he did it.
Fenig Durak: Alright, she's gonna ask. "That's a lovely chain, Hobbs. Where's it from?" There's really no nice way to ask that.
Hobbie Klivian: "Huh?" he looked down and finally noticed what he was doing. "Oh," he flushed slightly and leaned forward so she could see the pendant. It was a platinum shell, with a script "K" on it.
Fenig Durak: "Girlfriend?"
Hobbie Klivian: He sat back and shook his head. "Girlfriend, no. First love, yes." He looked distant. "She was one of my best friends, her name was Kerren. She married another of my best friends, Marcus. For her sixteenth lifeday, I had given her this necklace.... She gave it back to me as a good luck charm when I left for the Academy...." his voice trialed off.
Hobbie Klivian: He chuckld dryly, "I can't tell you how many times they saved my skin before I left Ralltiir...."
Fenig Durak: She nodded, understanding completely. Her first love died in a mugging, accidental shot from her own blaster. Hence the extra training she took from her Dad to get better with it.
Hobbie Klivian: He sighed and looked up at the ceiling tears glistening in his eyes. "They, and my father, and Aila were killed in the attack on Ralltiir. My mother and their son, Corthan, were able to escape to Tibrin."
Hobbie Klivian: He went silent, lost in thoughts of the past.
Fenig Durak: "Hobbie, I'm so sorry." Maybe a subject change. "What was the Academy like. I was tempted for a while to try and get in, but I heard that the few girls who did were tortured."
Hobbie Klivian: "It was very hard, Baron Fel was a merciless instructor. And yeah, it wasn't too great a place for Women." He shook his head.
Fenig Durak: "Were there any when you were there?"
Hobbie Klivian: "There was one... she was an interesting woman." He shook his head sadly.
Fenig Durak: "What happened?" She started to lean forward, but remembered how close they were sitting now.
Hobbie Klivian: He took a deep breath. "She died when we took the Rand Ecliptic."
Fenig Durak: "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. What was her name?" Best way to remember the dead was add their name to your prayers. Or to drink to them as Fenig didn't pray. "But if you would rather we talk about something else..."
Hobbie Klivian: One of his unshed tears fell unchecked down his cheek, he didn't notice... he was lost in the past now.... everyone he'd ever been close to had died, or left.
Hobbie Klivian: "It's alright," he said softly. "We called her 'Rogue'."
Fenig Durak: Fenig leaned back in her chair and blinked. "Was she the reason Rogue Squadron was named Rogue Squadron?" Fenig very much wanted to know this woman now. Someone who had touched Hobbie deeply, who had made it in the Academy, and so much more.
Hobbie Klivian: "I got a two day pass from Luke for suggesting her name for the name of the unnamed..." he shrugged. "Nobody was left alive who knew her."
Fenig Durak: "Hobbie, I hope you're not thinking that...." How does she finish that?
Hobbie Klivian: He looked to her then, "That what?"
Fenig Durak: "I just hope that you'r enot thinking it's some kidn of omen or something."
Hobbie Klivian: "I'm not tracking."
Fenig Durak: "Nevermind then. I didn't think you were assuming that." ANother subject change was in order. "Any suggestions on baby names?"
Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie's a single track minded kind of guy.... most pilots are. "No really, assuming what?"
Hobbie Klivian: He canted his head to one side.
Fenig Durak: "That your time was coming up."
Hobbie Klivian: "My time was up years ago.... I'm just too good at stopping the clock."
Fenig Durak: "And you know that were you to die, I'd only ressucitate you so that I can beat the crap out of you." Her eyes twinkled with her smile meant to lighten the moment. "'Sides, without you, who's supposed to protect me from Wes?"
Hobbie Klivian: "Myn."
Hobbie Klivian: "In fact, once he's cooled down, I intend on telling him so."
Fenig Durak: "Oh is that so?" She raised her brows in a mockery of seriousness.
Hobbie Klivian: "Yep. If something happens to me, someone's gotta look out for you and that kid. Someone outside your realm of familyhood...."
Hobbie Klivian: He leaned his elbowson his knees, "You see... years ago Wes and I made a deal. Anything happens to our girl, the other takes care of her.... well, that also extended to if one of us hurt her the other'd beat sense into him as well."
Fenig Durak: "Myn's getting married and will have his own kids soon. I guess you're just going to have to be careful and I'm just going to have to upgrade your shields again." She patted his knee and laughed softly. "I'd hardly call myself  Wes' girl, Hobbs."
Hobbie Klivian: "You've been after him for a year, you care for him, and you're carrying his child. In my book, that makes you his girl. Now, whether or not HE realises that," Hobbie shrugged.
Fenig Durak: "Hence why I th ink what I think." She shrugged as well. "But hey, that's not a big deal really."
Hobbie Klivian: He shrugged. This was probably his first real break in ages.
Fenig Durak: Damn right it is. And when he takes Fen out one of these nights, it'd be his second.
Hobbie Klivian:
"So, you were asking about name ideas?" Hobbie raised an eyebrow as he leaned back.
Fenig Durak:
"Sure, why not?  I mean, I've got 9 months to pick one out that I like, so I need to get ideas from somewhere."  She shrugged.
Hobbie Klivian:
"You probably should be asking Wes, as it's his kid too, though...."
Fenig Durak:
"I will when I get around to it.  He doesn't really like to talk about the kid just yet.  But at least this way I have some ideas to present to him.  Unless you froce me to name my son Derek..."  Her eyes sparkled brightly.  She had thought about it and had every intention of presenting the idea to WEs.
Hobbie Klivian:
Hobbie  made a face, "Well, if that's the choice, I'd better give you some ideas," he chuckled.
Fenig Durak:
She knew that would get him motivated.
Hobbie Klivian:
"Let's see," he rattled off  names without thought, "Marcus, Jek, Biggs, Kerren, Aila and Elva."
Fenig Durak:
"I already know someone named Elva, but it is a pretty name."
Fenig Durak:
"Biggs and Jek, they were at Yavin, weren't they?"
Hobbie Klivian:
"Do you?" he sighed, "Ah well....  Yes, they were."
Fenig Durak:
"I've onl ever heard good things about them."
Hobbie Klivian:
"They were great guys, the best."
Fenig Durak:
She nodded, also having heard the stories of how they died.  "Did you know them well?"
Hobbie Klivian:
"Was with them at the Academy.... their idea to hijack the Rand."
Fenig Durak:
"Oh."  Well, she opens her big mouth...  "Maybe they should get a squadron named after them as well?"
Hobbie Klivian:
"If I could, I'd  have a squadron named for every one of the the guys who died heroes.  All of them."
Hobbie Klivian:
He looked down at his hands again, "And they all did."  He looked up, trying to banish the bad thoughts away.  "So, you said you knew an Elva?  I've always liked that name."
Fenig Durak:
"It really is a beautiful name.  The little girl matches it so well."  She smiled, remembering the little one that had napped on her a few days ago at the Solo's.
Hobbie Klivian:
"I take it she's an impish child?" he smiled.
Fenig Durak:
"What do you mean?"
Hobbie Klivian:
"Well, Elva's an old Ralltiirian name... it means Elf-like.  I always thought of Elves as impish," he shrugged.
Hobbie Klivian:
"When I was a kid, I'd often try and go outside late at  night to try and find an elf... and I'd look underwater to see if I could meet a sea-elf... of course I never did, but  I've always been facinated with myths liek that."
Fenig Durak:
"Impish.  Huh.  Well, no, little Elva is the most adorable little girl I've never known.  She has these bright blue eyes that are just so curious about everything.  I nearly melted when she fell asleep on me a few nights ago."
Hobbie Klivian:
"Sounds like a precious child."
Fenig Durak:
"She was, she really was.  Breaks my heart about her parents though."
Hobbie Klivian:
"Why?  What happened to them?"
Fenig Durak:
"Winter says that she and Tycho have no idea who they are.  That Elva was left on their table one day with a note saying not to try and find them"
Hobbie Klivian:
"Ah, so that's the baby Wes heard in the background a few months ago when he called to see how they were.  I should go visit them sometime and meet this orphan child."
Fenig Durak:
"I want to go with you when you do.  I'm anxious to see her again and to meet this Tycho that I've heard so much about."  She has this thing with meeting ex-Imps.  Go figure.
Hobbie Klivian:
He shrugged, "Sure, if  nothing else, you can talk to Winter when you get bored."
Fenig Durak:
"I liked her a lot.  She seemed really together and well organized.  Maybe some of that'll rub off."
Hobbie Klivian:
"I think it's probably an Alderaani thing, being *that* organised,"  he almost smirked.  Yeha, he was enjoying the time not working.  for once.
Fenig Durak:
Fen could tell, though she wasn't thinking on that just now.  "Maybe, but I certainly hope it's contagious.  Recently I haven't been able to find my way around my office."
Hobbie Klivian:
"You could get a cleaning droid...."
Fenig Durak:
"I tried that.  I los tso much stuff that I went nuts."
Hobbie Klivian:
"Then you oughtta get to it sometime."
Fenig Durak:
"Maybe when I'm through getting into fights."  She winked
Hobbie Klivian:
He shook his head and held a finger pointed at her, "You ARE through getting into fights, young lady," he smirked.
Fenig Durak:
"Young?  I doubt I"m that much younger than you, Hobbs."
Hobbie Klivian:
"I know better than to ask, even though I could look it up in your file," he smiled.  "But I bet I'm older."
Hobbie Klivian:
He shrugged, "Even if I wasn't, it wouldn't sound right to call you just 'lady' or 'old lady' in reprimand, now would it?"
Fenig Durak:
"Oh, I know you are.  WEs told me."  She chuckled softly and shook her head, "I'll admit though, this is truly a first for me."
Hobbie Klivian:
"What, talking to a pilot over the age of twenty six?"
Fenig Durak:
"Sort of."  SHe shrugged and just rolled her eyes.  "Before meeting y'all, I've only ever really fallen for younger men.  Not too much younger, but they were always younger."
Hobbie Klivian:
"Ah," he nodded, "So you're younger than Wes... now that narrows things further for me.  We could make this a game.  'guess the Feni's age' or something silly like that."
Hobbie Klivian:
He wasn't grinning, but his voice was.
Fenig Durak:
"Oh, I've been promoted from young lade to 'The Feni'?  I like that."  She sat straighter and raised her chin to be more parallel with the floor.
Hobbie Klivian:
"We could get you a cape and mask to go with that ego."
Fenig Durak:
She scoffed.  "If you're going off of ego alone, where is Wes' cape and mask?"
Fenig Durak:
"Or is his name 'The Naked Crusader?"
Hobbie Klivian:
"Only around the Wraiths."
Fenig Durak:
"Yeah, I heard about that.  Makes me wish I'd been transfered sooner."  Though, we both know she's seen nude WEs.
Hobbie Klivian:
"Oh well, I'm sure you'll find a way to compensate for that loss."
Fenig Durak:
"Thought I already had."  Wink!
Hobbie Klivian:
He chuckled, "Of course."  He shook his head and looked sadly at the chrono on the wall, "Unfortunately...."
Fenig Durak:
She looked too.  "Yeah, it's that time."
Hobbie Klivian:
Hobbie stood and reluctantly made his way back behind his desk.  "It's been good talking with you, Fen.  Don't forget, no more fighting," he half smiled whle he shook a stylus at her.
Fenig Durak:
She rose and held up her hands in defense.  "Hey, you'll never catch me starting a fight.  Though from here on out, I doubt you'll catch me finishing one either."  Unless I hear more sh*t about Wes.
Hobbie Klivian:
"Oh, I almost forgot," he handed her a piece of flimsy with directions on it.  "This is where Kell goes to experiment with explosives."
Fenig Durak:
She read over the directions.  "Great, thank you.  This'll really help in the next 9 months."
Hobbie Klivian:
"Just be careful, promise."
Fenig Durak:
"Come with me and you can make sure how careful I am."
Hobbie Klivian:
He motioned to the datacards strewn over his desk, wordlessly.and s hook his head.
Fenig Durak:
"You can't take 30 minutes to make sure your Force son stays safe?  Not to mention his mother?"  Yup, she wants a boy.
Hobbie Klivian:
"Well, not today anyhow," he paused.  "Call me when you go.  Maybe I can blow up some stuff too. Force knows I should, before frustration kills me."
Fenig Durak:
She nodded, "Done deal."  Before she left, Fenig slipped around the desk to give Hobbie a big hug and a lil kiss on the cheek.  Such displays weren't usually her style, but this was Hobbie.  Not only did he mean a heap to her, he needed the contact.
Hobbie Klivian:
He smiled sadly as the door closed behind her. then he took a deep breath and went back to drowning himself in work.
