Adam Lyons: -=walks up to Hobbie's office door and knocks on it. =-
Hobbie Klivian: Come.
Adam Lyons: -=walks in and grins=- Bet you weren't expecting me.
Hobbie Klivian: I've learned to stop expecting things.
What's on your mind? -=he sighed=-
Adam Lyons: Well I came for a couple of reasons, first for Myn and
second for myself.
Hobbie Klivian: -=Hobbie gestured to a chair=- Take
a seat, Adam, and talk.
Adam Lyons: -=sits down=- Which would you rather me talk about first?
Hobbie Klivian: Which do you think would upset me most?
Adam Lyons: Probably Myn, but I'm not here so you let him off easy,
frankly I think he's had it coming.
Hobbie Klivian: -=raises an eyebrow, says nothing=-
Adam Lyons: I don't know if you've heard but he's put himself under
a self-imposed visitation hours. With exception to Kirney, though I think
she's become his guard.
Hobbie Klivian: You're kidding.
Adam Lyons: I'm not. I'
Adam Lyons: I'm not sure if he's trying to prove to you that he still
has the disicipline or if he's trying to prove it to himself.
Hobbie Klivian: -=sits back=- Well, I'm not going
to stop him.
Adam Lyons: I guess it might be his way of saying sorry for the letter.
He always seems to be replying to most actions that you're doing with
something that he does...I guess he's finially realizing that he's gone
way too far.
Hobbie Klivian: Good.
Hobbie Klivian: -=seems very shuttered=-
Adam Lyons: -=grins=- I guess that means if I'm going to anger you,
which I hope I don't, it's going to be talking about what I observe about
you.
Hobbie Klivian: -=mumbles=- What is this, pick on Hobbie
week?
Adam Lyons: Actually I try not to pick on my heroes...I'm just telling
you what I see. What you do with it is up to you.
Hobbie Klivian: -=sighs=- Out with it.
Adam Lyons: I think that you're pretty close to snapping, kind of like
Myn right now.
Hobbie Klivian: That seems to be the common consensus.
Adam Lyons: Though I'm not sure how much of it is you and how much
is the expectations of other people.
Adam Lyons: What I see is that whenever Myn or someone else talks about
you-know-who, you always seem to get angrier and angrier until...well,
boom.
Hobbie Klivian: Hobbie raised an eyebrow, but said
nothing.
Adam Lyons: It's almost as if a bunch of five-year olds are standing
right next to you with their fingers pointing right in your face while
saying, "I'm not touching you..." It's very aggrivating.
Hobbie Klivian: -=Hobbie had to chuckle at the mental
image.=- Point taken.
Adam Lyons: And Myn did suggest a good thing when he said that you
should get some assistant...I wish I had one for what I have to do.
Adam Lyons: -=shrug=- Though this kind of work is good at numbing
the mind to various emotions...
Hobbie Klivian: -=This kid's pretty perceptive.....=- I see.
Adam Lyons: And that you should get some time off, though probably
most importantly in your own way because I don't think Myn realized what
works for him won't work for you.
Hobbie Klivian: Fact. -=hobbie nodded and let a ghost
of a smile touch his lips=- Anything else you want to enlighten me on?
Hobbie Klivian: -=teasing voice=-
Adam Lyons: -=g=- I suspect it'd be more the other way around.
Hobbie Klivian: -=both eyebrows raise=-
Adam Lyons: I mean there's so much that you know that would be invaluable
for someone like me to know.
Hobbie Klivian: Like what?
Adam Lyons: I don't know, you might know what it is but I certainly
don't.
Hobbie Klivian: -=cant help but let loose a dry chuckle=-
Adam Lyons: -=shrug=- I mean, you, Wedge, Tycho, and Wes were one of
the main reasons that I joined the New Republic as a fighter pilot.
Hobbie Klivian: Well, -=thinks a moment=- The best
advice I can give without being asked specific questions is this. Be loyal
to your family, your friends, your cause, and yourself. In that order.
Adam Lyons: -=nod=- Thanks, I'll do my best to follow that.
Hobbie Klivian: It gets a little confusing, when your
friends are family... but you're a smart lad, I'm sure you'll figure it
out.
Adam Lyons: -=grins=- And for that I'll do my best to find a way for
you to kill the Invisible fighter.
Hobbie Klivian: -=firm nod and a smile=- I appreciate
that. The thing's too much of a headache as it is.
Adam Lyons: -=smiles=- And you haven't done 200+ sim runs against
it yet.
Hobbie Klivian: -=wince=- ouch.
Hobbie Klivian: You're very dedicated.
Adam Lyons: -=grins evilly=- My way of getting out of paperwork and
it's incredibly fun.
Hobbie Klivian: -=chuckle and shakes head=-
Adam Lyons: -=shrugs again=- Though it's certainly not relaxing.
Hobbie Klivian: But you enjoy it.
Adam Lyons: Whether or not I enjoy it is meaningless unless I find
a way to get rid of stress at the end of the day.
Hobbie Klivian: -=cants head to one side=- See, that's
the thing. Some people may think something's too stressful.... while the
people doing them may enjoy and rather do that then be 'relaxing' bored
out of their skulls.
Adam Lyons: For me, it's not the dogfighting, its the fact that the
whole deal is a high priority of the Republic...not exactly the easiest
situation.
Hobbie Klivian: -=nods=-
Adam Lyons: Though I think that if it's possible to find a method to
reduce stress while still enjoying whatever you're doing, the trick is that
it's probably unique for each person.
Hobbie Klivian: That is true.
Adam Lyons: So whatever I offer to you as advice will probably work
for me but not for you.
Adam Lyons: -=g=- On that I wish for you to get over whatever problems
you have, how I don't know and don't particularly care as long as you do.
Hobbie Klivian: -=chuckles=- I can assure you. On
another note - how are your researches into the Invisible Fighter going?
Adam Lyons: -=sighs=- Until I have specific data on it I'm figuratively
and literally in the dark.
Hobbie Klivian: Yeah. That is quite true. So, why
do you still work on it if there's nothing to work with?
Adam Lyons: It's the ultimate test of my skill and as far as I know
it's a worst case scenario.
Hobbie Klivian: It is, until we know anything, it's
the worst thing we go up against. Pilots are dying on LDP's and recons,
and nobody knows why. So far.... Reilin and her partner are the only ones
who've come back.
Adam Lyons: I can only guess that the people that go on those patrols
probably face two and three to one odds when they face them. That much
I do know.
Hobbie Klivian: Must be.
Adam Lyons: So that means what? Either they're using all their resources
to locate and jump the patrols or they have a ton of those fighters.
Hobbie Klivian: It's very random, not all patrols.
All I've been able to find out, is that many go out, go missing, and
when someone goes to try and find out what happened, they're where they
were last patrolling....in pieces.
Adam Lyons: Yeah that's about all I get...guess that means a snoopscoot
mission...with escort, a lot of escort.
Hobbie Klivian: Right, and no Scouting and Pouting
without some sort of Intel information.
Adam Lyons: -=shrugs=- More like with them scouting and dying. Unexpected
backup will probably be useful.
Hobbie Klivian: Yeah..... here's to hoping for orders
we want. -=he held up a hand and saluted as though toasting, then put it
down again=-
Adam Lyons: -=g=- Without any "modifications."
Hobbie Klivian: Hope to Force.
Hobbie Klivian: -=od\
Hobbie Klivian: * -=nod=-
Adam Lyons: -=eg=- And to the reality fairy giving Myn a good smacking...
Hobbie Klivian: With a clue-by-four, as Mara'd say.
Adam Lyons: -=smiles=-
Hobbie Klivian: -=slight smile=- So, was there anything
else you wanted? I really should get back to work....
Adam Lyons: No, I probably need to check on Myn and make sure he hasn't
done anything stupid.
Hobbie Klivian: Good idea, I hope he hasn't - but I
think he's smarter than that too.
Adam Lyons: I know he is but whenever he's stressed or extremely emotional
everything goes out the window.
Hobbie Klivian: I know that too. Go, make sure he's
alright. Let me know if he isn't, okay?
Adam Lyons: -=stands up, salutes and grins=-
Adam Lyons: -=heads out but stops at the door and looks at Hobbie=-
You know, we're all a bunch of misfits, just some of us more than others.
-=then walks out and closes the door=-
Hobbie Klivian: -=had saluted back, but then blinked
at the door as it closed=-
