Jaina - Feni | Kyp - Shel
Kyp Durron: Kyp sat on the floor beside the bacta
tank, keeping his eyes and Force Sense out to be sure that the Sith didn't
come after Siee while she recuperated. His head leaned back against the
tank and his eyes drifted into the distance as he thought.
Jaina Solo: Tbtbhtbhthbthbhtbt! ::the noises
a child made to simulate engine noises slowly bled into the room as little
bare feet danced in circles, a plastic X-Wing held high above her head,
executing impossible maneuvers and daredevils stunts in the hand of the pig-tailed
one. Though she paused her feet in the doorway of the bacta room::
Kyp Durron: ::Kyp looked up and half smiled to
himself at the child's antics. She had so much joy - he envied her that.
He said nothing, not really wanting to be noticed.::
Jaina Solo: Uncle Kyp?
Kyp Durron: ::He chuckled mirthlessly:: Just Kyp,
Jaina. What're you doing up at this hour?
Jaina Solo: ::Her eyes darted about the hallway
behind her as the smile on her face turned innocently sneaky. Baretoes
padded across the floor, bringing her ot Kyp's side:: Jus' playin. Whatcha
doin? ::She didn't yet understand what it was that Kyp was doing or why, but don't
count her out, she's got a bit more sense than she lets on::
Kyp Durron: Thinking, Jaya... mostly just thinking.
::he sighed and watching...
and waiting.....::
Jaina Solo: ::Big brown eyes fringed with mussy
bangs looked up at the girl floating in the tank:: You're worried 'bout
her, ain'tcha, Uncle Kyp?
Kyp Durron: ::He shrugged.:: "I guess so. Yeah."
Jaina Solo: The shadows? ::Out of the mouths
of babes, neh? Jaina knew there was a shadow existing somewhere on Coruscant.
Jacen and herself had spied it once in a linked dream. But the sighting
was brief and the shadow seemed to shy away from them::
Kyp Durron: ::He thought about that for a moment,
deciphering what she meant. Then he nodded:: Yeah.
Jaina Solo: ::Tucking her toy in the pocket on
the bib of her overalls, Jaina padded quietly to her Uncle's lap -and she'd
keep calling him that as long her parents told her to- crawling to curl
up against him:: What's her name?
Kyp Durron: Siee ::He sighed a long sigh:: Siee Janson.
Jaina Solo: She's pretty. ::Innocent eyes peered
over Kyp's shoulder at the girl floating nearly naked in the orange fluid::
Jaina Solo: Like Wes Janson, Uncle Kyp?
Kyp Durron: ::He nodded:: She's his little sister.
Jaina Solo: Oooo... ::the little one stiffled
a huge yawn and reshifted her slight weight on Kyp's lap:: Siee a new
Jedi?
Kyp Durron: ::He chuckled at that, he wasn't really
in the mood to talk, but then, when was he ever? He looked back over his
shoulder slighty and nodded.:: I think so. ::He looked down at the little girl huddled in his
lap:: You should go back to bed, Jaya.
Jaina Solo: No! ::She replied petulantly, pouting
her lips out to wrinkle her chin:: I want to know more about Siee.
Kyp Durron: ::He chuckled.::
Jaina Solo: ::This is one of those times that
Jaina resembled her mother more than her father, straightening up on his
lap to smile sweetly and proceed to barrage him with questions:: Where
didja meet her?
Kyp Durron: In a hangar bay.
Jaina Solo: When? ::Her little voice sounded
almost singsong that time::
Kyp Durron: ::he half smiled... he knew this game
all to well. It was the one where she peppered him with questions until
she wore herself out.:: A few
days ago.
Jaina Solo: Where was the hanger? ::Her toy was
slipped free of her pocket again so little fingers could gently trace the
lines of the fighter::
Kyp Durron: In the military sector of imperial
centre.
Jaina Solo: ::Her brows lifted at that:: Where
Uncle Wedge used ta work?
Jaina Solo: ::The few times she'd been taken there,
she loved to run amok around the landing struts of the fighters and pretend
she was a pilot::
Kyp Durron: ::He nodded with a chuckle, do these
kids call everyone uncle?:: Yes.
Jaina Solo: ::She bounced lightly on his lap::
I wanna go! Can we go there?
Kyp Durron: Woah, hey, settle down... ::he tried
to restrain her::
Jaina Solo: ::She stopped bouncing, but the exuberance
in her eyes didn't match the calm:: Can we go? Pleeeeaaaasssee?
Kyp Durron: I'm sorry, Jaina... but now's not
the best time to be going out there.
Jaina Solo: Tomorrow then? ::She batted her big
brown eyes, attempting to make the face that Chewie made when making fun
of Han for giving into Leia::
Kyp Durron: :: he shook his head.:: Not for a
long while... it's not safe there.
Jaina Solo: ::She stopped pleading, her face growing
serious:: The shadow?
Kyp Durron: ::He nodded:: Yes. The shadow lives
there right now, and it's awake. Please don't bug your dad, or anyone
else, into taking you there, okay?
Jaina Solo: ::A solmen nod moved her head:: Ok,
Uncle Kyp
Jaina Solo: What about the people there now?
Kyp Durron: The Shadow doesn't want people who
can't use the Force. So they're safe.
Jaina Solo: But the Force is in everything. They
don' have to be Jedi to be hurt.
Kyp Durron: ::He nodded:: That's true. But the
Shadow wants a certain kind of person to hurt.... A person like Siee
- and she's really the only one like that who was living there... that's
why I brought her here.
Jaina Solo: Does her mommy and daddy know where
she is?
Kyp Durron: Her mother lives on a different planet...
and your mother is calling her brother as we speak. ::which reminds me....
I'm going to have a lot of explaining to do::
Jaina Solo: Is her brother like Jacen an' me?
::She meant, was Siee Wes' twin:;
Kyp Durron: He's a lot older than she is.
Jaina Solo: ::She looked up at the unconscious
girl again, her eyes narrowing as she 'thought' around Siee, sort of reading
how strong she was, wat the last few emotions she felt before being submerged
where, etc:;
Kyp Durron: ::Kyp simply sighed and looked distant
once again, despite the four year old little terror in his lap::
Jaina Solo: ::she squirmed on his lap:: Uncle
Kyp? ::stffle another yawn::
Kyp Durron: ::He was too tired to object by now.::
Yeah?
Jaina Solo: ::She didn't reply, her eyes closed
and her breathing deep adn even. Her head rested against his shoulder.
Yup, she was asleep:;
Kyp Durron: ::he chuckled slightly and rested his
chin atop her pigtailed head. She was a good kid, when she wanted to
be. With a sigh, he went back to waiting and watching.::
