Under the guise of protecting peoples children from the ravages of war, the Empire abducted children to use on suicide missions against the New Republic.  Reilin Darklighter was among those children abducted from Tatooine..  In her time among them, she received combat pilot training - and attempted to help the young children overcome their fear of the cruel way the Empire tought them these lessons.

The Rogues rescued her, and the others, in a covert action which resulted in many of their number being wounded.  When she found out her brother was among them, a joyful reunion took place.  She went back with them to the New Republic, and soon joined up as a pilot in the New Republic Military.

During all this, she managed to fall for Rogue Mike Ngo, and he for her.  This isn't her first boyfriend, but probably the best she's had as yet.  Currently their relationship is quite nice.
