Mike was born on Twithron Colony, a space colony in high orbit around Corellia. His natural parents were Imperials, working as medical staff for the local garrison. Distraught with his parents and Imperial life, he ran away at the age of six, and hid with a circus group that was visiting the colony at the time. Mike was found and brought in and raised by his new foster family as one of their own.
He was with the circus for the majority of his childhood, training and participating in the circus as an acrobat. His love and fascination for starfighters actually began before he met with the circus, and only grew with time as he logged on as many hours as he could in Imperial simulators when the circus was visiting Star Destroyers or other Imperial facilities.
At the age of seventeen, he left the circus and his family to attend the Corellia Military Academy, where he specialized in starfighter operations and zero-G combat. Mike stayed there for three years, obtained the rank of Lieutenant in the Corellian military before he decided to leave and join up with the New Republic.
He was assigned to Falcon Squadron when he first joined up, primarily a Z-95 group often assigned to low-clearance escort. Mike stayed in Falcon Squadron for about ten whole months before his Commanders recommended that he be transferred to Rogue Squadron.
As a relatively new recruit, Mike has less hardened combat experience than the other Rogues, but is nevertheless a very capable pilot. He has had previous experience with starfighters before he joined up with the Corellian military, and the academy served to refine and sharpen his skills. His experience in acrobatics and zero-G movement have aided his situational awareness skills tremendously, giving him an edge against any TIE pilots that happen to pass through his targeting scope.
