Planes of Existence
Is Earth the only plane of existence? Some people question that and contradict that. People believe in what their senses give them, which makes Earth (physical or prime realm) the base of "reality" for a majority of people. In fact there other places beyond most of mankind's grasp. These planes/realms exist in the astral realms, where the astral itself branches off into other realms where energy has manifested itself into a place to match is surroundings and inhabitants. There are a myriad of realms that branches out from the astral and visiting them is a means of great spirituality and great awe. Here is a list and description of some of the many realms.
- Astral plane-
The astral plane is a plane of chaotic matter, and what seems to be the main "highway" to the other planes. The astral is where a majority of people go when they project and it's a place where the sheer will can change the outcomes of events. The astral plane has three known layers; the upper astral, the astral, and the lower astral. The upper astral and lower astral are more like poles for positive and negative energy. The upper astral is the positive pole where many positive energy beings reside and is a gateway to places of healing, spirituality, and good-nature. The lower astral is the negative pole where many negative energy beings reasides and is a gateway to places of chaos, repelling, and ill-nature. The mid-astral is the neutral part where positivity and negativity mingle freely. This is the area most wish to travel, but few take their chances in the upper and lower astral.
- Elemental planes (Pure)-
Yes! As a matter of fact the forces of the elements need a plane to draw their elemental energy from. These planes are the raw energy and sheer force of the element themselves.
- Air-
Our most abundant resource! The elemental plane of air is an endless air-filled void with no natural up or down. Here winds can be as low as a light breeze or it can turn into a terrifying gail.
- Earth-
Imagine being in a realm where no matter how much you dig you'll never reach a land where you'll see a horizon. That is what the elemental plane of earth is like. It possesses many winding caverns and subterranean tunnels. This realm is raw earth-power and here you might see great underground earthquakes, fissures, and rifts.
- Fire-
I don't think one needs a description as to what this realm will be like. All that I can say is imagine being in an endless void filled with roaring flames.
- Water-
Another abundant resource! The elemental plane of water is an endless realm with no actual up or down, so water pressure doesn't apply here. This realm is a complete hydro-realm with no surface.
- Elemental planes (Para)-
Whatever happens if two elemental planes comerge? When two elemental planes comerge they create a para-element or the energy is called the para-elemental plane.
- Ice-
The para-elemental plane of ice is created when the plane of air and water comerges. This plane is a vast endless realm of icy winds, ice, and ice floes.
- Magma-
The para-elemental plane of magma is created when the plane of earth and fire comerges. This plane is a vast realm where molten rock flows like an infinite river and slags of heavy earth burn.
- Ooze-
The para-elemental plane of ooze is created when the plane of earth and water comerges. This plane is a vast sea of ooze, where in many parts its as thick as molasses or thin as syrup.
- Smoke-
The para-elemental plane of smoke is created when the plane of air and fire comerges. This is like the plane of air, but instead of air it's filled entirely with smoke.
- Elemental planes (Quasi)-
The quasi-elemental plane is created when an elemental plane crosses into the upper astral (positive energy) or the lower astral (negative energy). Here the planes are transformed into something different depending on the energy infused into it from the positive energy or negative energy poles.
Positive quasi-elements
- Lightning-
When the elemental plane of air is barraged by heavy amounts of positive energy it becomes a plane of lightning. This is an endless void where powerful lightning storms fill the sky and coursing the planes with energy.
- Mineral-
When the elemental plane of earth is infused by heavy amounts of positive energy it becomes a plane of mineral. Imagine tunneling your way through crystalline caverns and where you'll see spires and formations of mineral and crystalline nature.
- Radiance-
When the elemental plane of fire is imbued with heavy amounts of positive energy it becomes a plane of radiance. Imagine a realm so bright that looking at it will blind you permanently. The realm flickers and shifts with radiant glow and coloration, and is said to be a place of healing and light.
- Steam-
When the elemental plane of water is swirled with positive energy it becomes a plane of steam. Imagine the plane of air, but instead of air its thick and chilly steam.
Negative quasi-elements
- Ash-
When the elemental plane of fire combines with negative energy it becomes a plane of ash. This realm is a desolate void constantly swirling with hot ash and crackling flames.
- Dust-
When the elemental plane of earth combines with negative energy it becomes a plane of dust. Much like the plane of ash, but replace it with dust. It is said that this plane strips the essence of life.
- Salt-
When the elemental plane of water combines with negative energy it becomes a plane of salt. Imagine the plane of mineral except replace it with salt.
- Vacuum-
When the elemental plane of air combines with negative energy it becomes a plane of vacuum....nothingness. This plane is void in every aspect. There is no air or anything in this plane except complete nothingness.
- Ethereal plane-
The ethereal plane is a realm where the astral body goes when it is in "dreamscape". the ethereal is a hazy realm where the astral body can freely mingle with other ethereal beings and can even shift its surroundings by means of lucidity.
- Etheric plane-
The etheric plane is the place where the astral realm and the "The Shroud" comerge. The etheric plane is an astral window to view the prime plane, but one does not have any manipulation to the prime world as they wish to have. This is where people mostly are when they see their home surroundings after astral projectting.
- Physical/Prime plane-
This is what we refer to as our physical "reality". In the prime plane the four elements combine together and form a more stable and solid form of life. Everything in the prime plane is more physical and solid to one's senses.
- "The Shroud"-
This is the realm is the most difficult to come into and you may quickly be stripped of it. This is the line between the physical realm and the other side. Here it's like being in the physical realm, but your presence is not seen. This is where "ghosts" come in to the picture. Your presence here is fueled on your emotional energy as well as any poltergeisting acts you do.
Realms in the Astral
The astral realm is not just home to many different beings and entities. It is also a "highway" to many other realms that lie within and beyond the astral. The amount of realms that lie within in the astral are infinite, but I'll list and describe a few realms that I have been to, seen, and heard of. Enjoy!
- Akaishic records-
The Akaishic records (or soul records) is a place where the memories and passed lives of souls and people are placed. Here a person or being can view one's life and even emotions. This area is full of complete awe. The Akaishic records do not have a permanent destination. It seems to change locations every time and it can be found in nearly every part of the astral. It is possible to view another person's records, but doing so is hard and is a difficult task to acquire.
- Baator-
Also known as "The Red Wastes", Baator is a realm that lies deep in the lower astral. Baator is the home of many demons and fiends, and where many spirits go to be tortured. Baator appears as a barren wasteland where the skies are scorched in reds and purples and the ground is deep red. Rivers of blood and lava flow through Baator's mountains and wastelands giving it a more malevolent appearance. Astral travellers who dare visit Baator are only looking for a few things; they wish to die FAST, they are absolute evil themselves, or they are just plain out crazy and/or stupid.
- Limbo-
Limbo is a place for lost souls to wander for an eternity. This is the place you go when you have no place else to go. Limbo lies far from the astral, yet it seems to share contact with it swallowing souls who have lost their emotional energy. Limbo appears to be a void in most cases, but yet it shares a tinge of chaos as many things seem to come and go in this place.
- The Rift-
This is a place where many spirits travel to in order to get to "The Shroud". The rift is located in the mid astral and appears much like a black swirling vortex. The main problem with The Rift is that it's full of chaos energy and one could very well get themselves in trouble if they don't watch out.
- The Well spring-
This area is located in the far outreaches of the astral plane and is near the border of the ethereal. The well spring is a very difficult place to find and one who does find it has access to personal knowledge and lore. This place is much like the Akaishic records, but instead more organized in a person's emotions and desires. Unlike the Akaishic the Well spring is a place for desires, fears, and emotions. The Well spring appears as a large hole with swirling blue and green mist rising out of it.
