Pagan Magick Lexicon
I know what many of you are thinking of right now and that's ," Pagan Magick! Magick doesn't exsit". Well, that's what this part of my Pagan webpage is dedicated to. To teach you what Pagan magick is and what different types of magick there are. For many centuries many Pagan religions practiced magick which they harness from their deities, energies, or plain out force of will. Many different Pagan branches see magick as either positive or negative, but I see it as both. No magick is labelled as positive or negative until you determine what you are going to use it for. If you use magick to heal yourself or wipe away impurities then that is a usage of positive magick. If you go out and jeophardize someone's life for no reason by inducing them with horrible nightmares, then that is a usage of negative magick. All Pagan branches practice in some form of magick that is labelled as positive or negative; or even both. I cannot get into what spells that Pagan branches cast, but I will label the different types and variations of Pagan magick out there.
- Abjuration: Abjuration magick is the casting of protective spells. Abjurations are used by many Pagan branches as means of protected astal travel and or the dispelling of positive/negative energy.
- Conjuration: Conjuration magick summons or brings forth a spirit or source of manifested energy. Many Pagan branches use conjurations to summon spirits, astral guides, or even negative beings.
- Divination: Divination magick focuses around learning things out like to foretell a lie, unlock someone's dark secrets, or even precognition. Pagan oracles or soothsayers will use divination magick.
- Enchantment: Enchantment magick focuses on imbubing objects with positive or negative energies to benefit them or to render them with flaws. Pagans who imbube a token with a "luck" spell or ritual are using a means of enchantment magick on them. A sub-type of enchantment magick also focuses on effecting people's minds by charming them or influencing them.
- Evocation: Evocation magick is one of the most used sources of magick since it deals with tapping into spiritual or manifested energy to create a desired effect. Evocation magick is most common in the astral and ethereal realms.
- Necromancy: Necromancy magick is the power and/or manipulation over death and negative energy. Necromantic magick is frowned upon by many Pagan religions, but a few (like mine) see it as another type of magick that shares its boundaries with positive and negative usages.
- Transmutation: Transmutation magick focuses on the changing of one's being or an objects being. A person who transforms negative energy into raw power or even positive energy is an example of how transmutation magick is used.
Magick isn't the power to throw jagged bolts of lightning from your palms or the power to throws balls of fire from your hands. Magick is the power one has with their will, soul, and the power of tapping raw energy. To use magick like many Pagans do you must first believe in the existence of magick and have a reason and a will to cast it. Be warned though! The emotion used in the magicks may come back at you, so be careful what you use it for. Also when casting magick be sure you have all the right tools and a clear will.
