The good old scholar's mate, the shame, the shame...

     Intro

I first started playing chess my freshman year in high school. My friend Chris was going with someone and he invited me to join.

I've seen my dad playing Chinese Chess before but I've never taken any interest in it or Chess.

However, once I learned how to play, this game has become much more interesting..

Although I cannot teach chess online, I have found some excellent websites that can offer help.

Exeter Chess Club: so far the best site to go to improve your chess skills. They offer openings, strategies, tactics, mid-games tips, and end game information for people of all levels.

Logical Chess: This site has game explanations for every move. I haven't explored it too much yet, but it looks very useful.

Yahoo! Games/Chess:  Whenever you need to test out your skills, go up against an opponent on Yahoo! Chess; just don't play those 2-minute games (requires Yahoo! ID).
