Review From CMJ New Music Report

On its self-titled debut, Videodrone intertwines bottom-heavy riffs and dancefloor breakbeats. Odd? Yes, but it works. With Korn's bass wieldin' Fieldy at the production helm, Videodrone layers keyboards and samples over trip-hop ambience with a constant industrial undercurrent. Diehard metalheads might dismiss the band as fluff or third generation Korn, but doing so would be hasty and unwise. These Bakersfield natives have put together an album of tracks that gets down and exchanges headbanging for booty shaking!
