Something to ponder
Ya know.... every once and a while I rent a movie and it seems to parallel life. Well, almost. You see, I rented a very good movie of which I wont give the title away for a good scary kick, and the scariest part was how well highschool life was portrayed. Geeks who are afraid to go to school, not for the physical abuse of others but the shear intolerance toward people who are different. Bruises go away, but mental abuse stays forever. So away, as the story goes there are kids from all walks of life, the head cheerleader, the captian of the football team, the school geek, the lesbian sex crazed drug addict (she wasn't really but thats how the socialites dubbed her), the drug dealer, and the new girl who are pitted against an alien who is trying to take over the school. Alright, not your idea of terrifying, but to them it was. During the movie each and every one was turned into an alien, including the one who saved them all. What a twisted web they weave. You may ask, what did we learn from this movie? Well look at the ending, cheerleader ends up with geek, captian of the football team with the so-called lesbian, and finally the drug dealer was on the football team. Interesting, no? It took something as insane as an alien invasion to make all this happen. Why, because we are afraid of change; simply that. Until someone throws a monkey wrench into the works we'd just as soon stay in the same old clicks.
