The Autobahns are a band formed from some guys in the North burbs of Chicago. We decided that we needed to form a band to stave off boredom. Jason is on a quest for his German citizenship, but the rest of the guys are satisfied in the USA. We all go to Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, IL, where Jason and Andrew are Juniors and John is a Sophomore.
The Autobahns have decided to be less a punk band and more a hardcore and metal band. More on that in the news section.
I suppose I could give you a bit more info about each of us personally.
Jon Guitar is the newest Autobahn, a lad of 16 he is. He's a cool guy, and the first time Andrew and Jason heard him play guitar they almost shit a brick, he's that good. He took over Guitar duties from Jason in February 2000. He also has this really badass effects pedal. John really likes music a lot, and plans to persue it as a career once his time in school is done, whether as a musician or a producer-type person. He likes all sorts of music from punk to metal to blues. He gets decent grades, but always gets grounded for them, thus hindering our practice Schedule. Talk to this kid at our shows, he's a real cool dude, and Ladies, he's single!
Andrew Drum (16) is the Autobahns second drummer, as he took over for this kid Grant (now in Hiding Remington) in September 1999. Andrew was in Legally Swedish with Jason and various others from 1997-99. He's a really good drummer, although sometimes he tends to play too quiet, probably because he likes to listen mostly to jazz music. Andrew is in school band (yay) and plays drums in the Jazz Band too. He's sort of a quiet guy but one of the funniest dudes around. If you spend a day with him, you'll laugh your ass off. However ladies, he is taken by Blair, one of the coolest chicks this side of the Des Plaines River. She's also like a sister to Jason, so she's like the 4th Autobahn.
And Lastly, we have Jason Vocals Bass (17). He's the only original Autobahn left, although he played the geetar at first. He writes most all the stuff for the Autobahns (as of yet) and is the group's resident German. All the German stuff you see around this page is his doing. He plays upright bass in Jazz Band with Andrew, which can be fun. Jason enjoys writing poetry and stories and such. He also likes to read. He writes most of his stuff for his Clara (Sorry ladies) who he says is "das wunderschönste und vollkommenste Mädchen der Welt." (the most beautiful and perfect girl in the world.) Jason is very outgoing and would like very much to talk to everyone at shows but for some reason he is always stuck doing the grunt work (setup, sound etc.) so he can be a bit irratible. Talk to him AFTER he's done with all that shite.
