News bits from "Gloria's Grapevine"

*Isn't LULU lucky (and talented too, of course)? First, she gets a part in a movie starring SIDNEY POITIER, then 
she gets a number one record, then she gets to be buddies with the MONKEES, then she goes back to England and gets her 
own TV series.  To top it all off, her pal DAY JONES promised to do an in-person appearance on her TV show while 
visiting his father in England this spring...

*DAVY JONES lost so much weight filming his big song and dance scene (the tune is Daddy's Song and was written by 
HARRY NILSON, who also wrote Cuddly Toy and may other pop hits)-anyway, DAVY lost so much weight that his close 
friends became worried about his health.  However, he finished all his duties at Studio 7 on time and then he and the 
rest of the MONKEES departed for Nassau, where they were to do some underwater scenes and then go on to Puerto Rico 
from some footage to be shot in that island's famous rain forest...
