Marty Joyce 2003 Champion

In a spectacular display, Marty Joyce won the 2003 PRCG event by a record margin easily outdistancing all opponents. By the first round it was evident that something was about to change. Always a solid performer, Marty's game seemed to be at a level higher. On Day 2, Movement Day, Joyce's crisp iron play and lethal putting were resulting in consistent low scores on the leader board.

While others struggled with the challenges of the twin Stonehedge courses, Marty kept the ball in play and the competition far behind. An original founding member of the PRCG, this was Joyce's first Green Jacket.

The 2003 Champion was recently spotted working on his swing and when asked about the 2004 season he commented, "Well my breaking ball is working well, my arm feels good and hey, I just want to help the team win this year". He later chatted about the phone call he received from Phil M. on the other Green Jacket victory.

In second place, the perennial bookmakers favorite Gerry Gust trailed Joyce, while Lex Gitter took third beating out Steve Adamczyk.

Newcomers Lauren Dardi and Jim Blowers were welcomed to their first Green Jacket event, but both felt the wilting pressure as they finished out of the top five places.

Mike Link returned after missing his first event in 2002.

Adamczyk's finish sent several members to the indoor ranges and sports psychologists for the winter as he continues his ascent on the leader board. Members were relieved when Douglas finished his appointed rounds this year without using the 'Mr. Belvedere rule' whereas in a previous year he appointed another to play in his place. Always a crowd pleaser, Doogie played well in his favorite Monopoly money shirt.

Kirke missed his first event in nine years, yet still did the pairings, handicaps, score recaps and reports - gotta love the commitment!

In other PRCG news, Rob Guzaldo welcomed another son to the tribe, thus rounding out his backcourt.

Worst Honesty Prognosticators

Douglas 33 and Dardi 30

Remember in 2002 when the event was plagued by rain which has been linked to certain players who feel a need to leave early. Thereby angering the golf gods that have ruled the event for the past eight years, showers dogged that competition causing a shortened tournament. A determined group pressed on the final afternoon and almost completed the round until the final monsoon struck. Any group that leaves early will be shunned and therefore known as the Sisterhood.

Lowest Putts - Andy Koglin 25.75 per round

Remember - "There is no such thing as too much Golf"

As the field has been peppered with returning veterans it will be another competitive year for the Green Jacket. Highly coveted and worn at only the best social events, the "Jacket"  has undergone a thorough cleaning, yet still somehow looks the same.

PRCG FACT: No one has ever won more than once

PRCG FACT: Lex CAN win the tournament despite rumors that he is prohibited by the rules
