Shea Seger, The May Street Project
Release Date:June 5, 2001
In an eclectic blend of bluesy pop and Southern style with hot beats, Shea Seger shows real talent in her debut album, The May Street Project, which was recorded in London although Shea is a native of Texas. Her voice may seem rough at times, but Shea has been singing since an early age. Her life experience is clear through her deep, poetic lyrics of a truly wonderful songwriter. She has catchy songs like the popular "Clutch" as well as slower songs like "Shatterwall". The album is gritty and outstandingly original. One of the only weaknesses of this album is that most of the songs aren't radio friendly, but if you are a fan of eclectic and underappreciated music, then Shea Seger's May Street Project is definitely a CD that should be added to your collection.
