Filter
These guys have a really great Alternative CD. It's got serious edge, and I definitely recommend it if you like NIN and others. Here's a blurb from MTV Online to introduce you to them if you still are unfarmilliar. to this group.
"It's been an awfully long time since Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang
carried the NIN-techno-digital-metal-industrial banner forward with the
first Filter record, "Short Bus." Remember? Sure you do. It was the era
when Nine Inch Nails, from which Patrick and Liesegang had sprung, ruled
the roost. Trent Reznor was on the cover of glossy magazines. Remember?
Well, the musical landscape has shifted dramatically in the last four
years, and now that Filter is back with a new album, new members, and a
new attitude, the question is, as always: What will the kids think?
Judging by the early returns, Filter still has some strong support out
there. The first single off "Title Of Record," "Welcome To The Fold,"
was a genuine hit, and Patrick and company -- along with Limp Bizkit,
Staind, Redman, Method Man, Primus, and other assorted wackos -- are
sweeping the nation on the current Family Values tour . As
Filter brings its evolving sound to the moshing masses, it's hard to
believe that the band's been pretty much out of circulation, with
infrequent exceptions, for almost half-a-decade (!). As the MTV Radio
Network's Roger Coletti found out, Richard Patrick is more than ready to
make up for lost time."
