MOULIN ROUGE (Songs From The Motion Picture)-Various Artists

If you have not seen this movie, I severely recommend it to you. I have seen it 5 times and every time I my love for it crescents. While there are many who dislike the neo-stylistic way of updating older songs into the new wave of pop songs, I believe that this is magnificently mastered. The musical composer found a way to combine "Up Where We Belong" with "Silly Love Songs"! He also found a way to create a tango out of The Police's "Roxanne."
I believe this was an extraordinary selection of voices and songs. Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor are a mellifluent conglomeration of voices and create and perfect on-screen couple. This is the only CD I've ever owned that just by listening to one song, it makes me cry and feel the music. It is powerful and captivating. It is truly a musical for the 21st century. And as many have said before "I laughed, I cried, It moved me."
