OK here is the lowdown on the PS2. As most of us know already when Sony dropped the price of the PlayStation to $99 they lost the I/O port on the back. What does that mean? Well, it means that you cannot buy a GS for it. I have heard about a GS that goes in the memory card slot and a GS on a CD just to solve these problems. So does this mean that Sony has a problem with the GS being used on their platform? I originally thought that they did. They claimed that they "did not support" the GS or its use on the PSX. But since I saw the PS2 I now beleive that it was really just something to help lower the price of the 9000 series PSX.

The PS2 has two controller ports two USB ports and an IEEE link. I think that there is plenty for the people at Interact and Datel to work with. Hopefully there will be a GS for the PS2 shortly after its supposed release date in March. Now we can't expect miracles to happen over night but we are hoping. The only question now that comes to mind, since Sony left plenty of places to stick a GS into, is wether or not the game developers will try to block the use of a GS on their games. I beleive that Squaresoft will be the first to do this. I guess they think that using a GS on one of their RPG's is a sin. But if some companies do try it will they all? I doubt that. I beleive it is more of a problem with the RPG makers than any of the others. And even if they do try to block the use of GameSharks we will always find a way around it.
