Does Your Tongue Need A Jail Sentence?
Do you ever stop and ask yourself this question, Why did I say that?Have you made that remark? I am sure at one time or another we have all said that.
We all need the ability to say the right things to people at the right times. But living the Christain life is also like operating in the enemies territory.
Sin is everywhere and all around us, and we must be on the lookout. The word of God tells us:"Set a guard over my mouth.O Lord As long as a christain speaks the truth he can say anything he wishes. We should always be careful and depend on God for every word This should'nt be a self-concious fear of opening our mouth. But we should have the same confidence like a small child that he won't get lost as long as he holds on to his mothers hand. Its the child that goes off by himself that gets lost or gets in trouble.
Its the same way with us as christains, as long as we hold on to God's hand we are ok, but when we think we can run our own show and do as we please we will fall.
Guarding your speech starts by guarding your heart. If you have jealously againist someone else, it can very quickley cause a unkind word.or if you are trying to protect your selfish interests sometimes this will cause you to lash out at someone else. And when we can't see our OWN FAULTS, this makes us defensive.
We need to excercise our faith and God will give us true discretion. We can best learn discretion by being quiet and listening, rather than talking all the time. That don't mean to put your tongue in jail and be afraid of saying anything.
But we do need to learn to be quick to encourage and speak positive things forth. Not Negative.
"Set a guard over my mouth,o Lord, keep watch Over the Door Of My Lips.(Psalms 141:3)
When Words Are Many transgression Is Not Lacking But He Who Restrains His Lips Is Prudent(sensible) -(Proverbs 10:19)
Little Lamb Thoughts:
1-What are the problems of talking to much?
2-How can realizing how great our God is and how little we are help us to not do and say the wrong things?
3-Have you ask God to set guard over your Lips?
Has Your Tongue Ever Needed a Jail Sentence?
