Are You Peace Compliant or Y2K Compliant?
For many months now leading up to the new Millenium, the focus of people everywhere, including the church has been on becoming Y2K compliant. But we as born again believers need to realize its more important that we lay hold to something much greater and that is God and His word.....
We have a covenant of peace with God. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed: but my kindness shall not depart from thee: neither shall the covenant of peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. - Isaiah 54:10 We can live in God's Shalom! God promised that His covenant of peace would not be removed from you. Having a shalom covenant means this:having a unbreakable promise of completeness, peace, health, welfare, saftey, soundness of mind, prosperity, rest and harmony with God. So really summed up we could say wholeness.
We can extend the peace of God to every area of our live. I believe one of the most peace filled chapters in the bible is Psalm 91. A very special friend of mine sent me Psalm 91, as she was reading it and I listen to it daily, because it describes a place in God of total trust and a peace so real and complete that nothing can touch you. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,he is my refuge and my Fortress,my God:on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I trust(amplified bible)Then as we read on the rest of that chapter tells us of glorious protection and peace that you will experience as a result of dwelling in the secret place and believing the Lord is your refuge. When we abide in something, your not in and out. You live there. We can let the word of God abide in us. As Jesus said in John 15:7-If you live in Me and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you.
Lets begin now and put the word of God first in our life and commit everyday to spending time with God. In this we can be peace compliant. Don't just think the word but do the word and this will extend peace to every area of your life.
As the new millenium is just hours away you need to focus on your peace with God. Become peace compliant.Day-by-day abide in the word of God and keep God's promises in your heart and speak them out of your mouth.
Others around you may be scared about things that may happen around them, but we can have God's peace. Time and Time again God has proven His faithfulness to deliver His people from danger. A life of peace even when the predictions of gloom and doom are being spoken.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus-Phillipians 4:7
And the work of righteousness shall be peace: and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever-Isaiah-32:17
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace-psalm 37:37
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid-John 14:27
My prayer for you in this upcoming Millenium is peace in your heart, and may the Love of God abide in you always. I love and appreciate you.
