Do We Watch What We Say?

You know each time we open our mouth to say something: we should be very careful. Why? Because the words we speak out, shows the world our heart.............

I was sitting here tonight in my study and I had been talking to the kids and explaining to them how when we always speak negative, we usually get negative or live negative. I don't know about you and your family, but I don't want to live negative, even tho things around us may appear negative.

There is 3 reasons why we should watch how we talk:

1- The way we talk directs where we go
If we go out to take a horse for a ride we place the bit in the horses mouth and that bit allows us to direct the way the horse goes either to the left or right or straight ahead. The book of James chapter 3 and verse 2 tells us this We all stumble in many ways,If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. So we need to listen to the way we talk.....

2- Our words can destroy.........one careless word out of our mouth said in the wrong way can destroy......1 careless word.. James 3:5-Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts.Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.James 3:6-the tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body.it corrupts the whole person, sets the whole coarse of his life on fire and its self set on fire by hell. The tongue can destroy things you have created and gossip destroys.......... The bible plainly tells us if we want to stay out of trouble be careful what we say proverbs 21:23 The tongue is waiting for the opportunity to destroy you or someone else. Are you watching what you say?

3- The way we speak and what we say also tells others who we are Do we complain or gripe? Are we guilty of these. I am . many times when I should have been praising God for all things I was complaining about something going on around me. james 3:10 says Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing>My brothers this should not be.......We need to ask the Lord to help us to be more careful before we speak. the way we talk directs where we go, the words we say can destroy and the things we say tells others who we are. As I sit back tonight and review things I have said and done, I know many times I was wrong.my desire is for God to help me to think before I speak. Not to use words that will destroy, but words that will encourage and uplift someone else. And that the words that come out of my mouth would be words that would uplift Jesus that someone else might come to know Him as their Savior. I love you all, God Bless You!!!
