We Need to Watch Our Mouth!
Many times we open our mouth and speak way to quick. Then its to late to take back the words that have been spoken, tho we really wish we could. Those words that we spoke have done penitrated the hearts of those they were spoken to. Part of us living our Christain life is also learning to have a good control of speech, one that is pleasing to God. David said "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer" - Psalm 19:14
When we use speech that is not pleasing to God
- We reveal a dirty heart-Matthew 12:34
- We grieve the Holy Spirit and that interferes with our walk with God.
- We separate ourselves
- We loose opportunities to share God with others
- We ruin our personal testomony
We need to watch our mouth. There is always someone watching your life. You are a example. We need to want our example to be one that God would be pleased with. Lets see what Gods word says - Ephesians 4:29-32
- Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
- Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
- And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Sometimes we can be sinned againist or open our mouth and say something without thinking and it never is noticed. But on the other hand many times the harsh words we speak hurt others deeply. And because we are humans we imediately want revenge. Its not human nature to want to forgive. But just as God forgave us we must forgive others and go on. Life is much to short to have unforgiveness againist others. Let's try to watch our mouth and try to walk and live in unity with others. God is pleased when we forgive and walk in unity.
