Only Here For A While

A poem created for Lisa Mac, with much love

We are only here for a very short while,
So until we leave, we need to smile.
Make someone happy or lend a helping hand,
Extend the love God gave us across this weary land.
Our life is only what we choose to make it.
It can be good or it can be bad.
We can be happy or we can be sad.
We need to depend on the only real source we have,
Friend, His name is Jesus, the only one who knows it all.
He can calm your fears and wipe away your tears.
And, in the midnight storm, He's always near.
You're only here for a short while.
Accept Jesus and learn to smile.
He alone can make you what you need to be,
So make someone happy. Lend a helping hand
Extend the love of Jesus throughout the land.
