Faith Enables Us to Withstand...What We Can't Understand

When we stop and think about what the word withstand means, we can realize that it means to endure, to last or put up with. So if we have faith we can endure, put up with or last even when we can't understand. To me if I was going to define faith, I would say it means trust or having a feeling of assurrance. Should we put our faith in God?

* And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:31 Many times this verse has been mistakenly taken to teach that the children of believers are guaranteed salvation. Why mistaken? Because household in the NT times was talikng about the family members, servants, and freemen who were obligated in some way to the head of the family. Then also because the promise is not that the household will be saved by the jailers faith, but that the offer of salvation by faith(by trust) is made to the household as well as the jailer. Often when the head of the family believed, then household members were influenced by his faith and then they to were saved. Just like today, our faith might influence someone to start asking questions about Jesus, and then they might recieve Him.

* Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11:1 The object of faith (trust) by its nature cannot be seen. But if we have faith(trust) I believe it can produce great results.

* And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief:for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove:and nothing shall be impossible unto you-Matthew 17:20 faith=trust If we have a poor faith or trust in Jesus, it seems we are forgetting just who He is and what He can acomplish if we have faith. * For we walk by faith, not by sight.- 2 Corthians 5:7

Alot of times within our personal lives problems arise all around us. It may look like there is no way out. With man there isn't.....But with God, with faith(trust) all things are possiable. I made a statement a few days ago, I don't believe God is moved by our circumstance....But I do believe God is moved by our faith. I am not saying that God doesn't care, what we are going through. What I am saying is that God is moved when he sees us believing holding on to that faith in Him, for whatever we are facing or going through. Faith Enables Us to Withstand....What We Can't Understand.

Will faith bring blessings into your life? But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:31

The promise still stands......Be faithful and even when circumstances try to get us down, if we will have faith in God.......disasters will turn out to the glory of God.

Let your faith, enable you to withstand...what you cannot understand.
