DAY ONE: Introduce th project by bringing in several travel brochures of the United States. Point out the features that you want the students to have in their final project. Example: population, state bird, square mileage, state capital, national parks, etc. Allow students to peruse the pamphlets at their leisure. This will give you and the students an idea of where their interests lie. Students choose a state. Have the students brainstorm information they already know.
DAY TWO: Give students a list of web sites that you would
like them to visit or have them bookmarked. Review URL addresses
if necessary. Students take an online quiz about their state to check
background knowledge or you may print this out.

DAY THREE: Students begin their web searches recording
information as they go.

DAY FOUR: Students are directed to go to the USA City to obtaining tourist information.
DAY FIVE: Students go to the geoNET game to take a quiz on the six themes of geography.
DAY SIX: Model the format the students should follow for writing their brochures. Rewview the writing process if necessary.
DAY SEVEN: Have students download pictures to use in their travel pamphlets. Many picture can be found at the dites they have visited. Students are to create a word search or crossword puzzle to use in their brochures.
DAY EIGHT: Students begin to put their pamphlets together.
DAY NINE: Presentations.
