  Our Teen Ministry
We strive to provide a well-rounded program for our teen ministry. We believe that our teens are the church of today, as well as the church of tomorrow. We are strategic about our ministry and try to fulfill all five of God's purposes for the church. These 5 purposes can be found in the following scriptures:

The Great Commandment: Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hand on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:37-40)

The Great Commission: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20)

Fellowship: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

Here are the five ministries and some of the programs we use for each area:

  Fellowship
We have fellowship with one another... We provide programs that allow the teens to fellowship and join in other fun activities. Some examples:

Game nights
Gym nights
YMCA lock-ins
Clubs (like laser tag, etc.)
Roller Skating
Bonfires, fishing, camping, etc.
Small group fellowship (at bible studies, etc.)

The goal is to provide opportunities for the teens to bond with each other and build lasting relationships.

  Evangelism
Go and make disciples. We provide programs, like the fellowship activities, that make it easy for teens to invite their friends. The goal is to give them exposure to the gospel and our church through activities they enjoy.

Every year we have what we call a Life Program. This program focuses on bringing new people into the church and the kingdom of God. The program lasts several months and ends with a Life Trip - our annual week long outing. The program revolves around forming teams that stay together during the entire program. Each team has a life-guard (adult leader) and each week we have competitions in which they can gain points for their team. The highest points are awarded for bringing their friends and guests to youth group. The teen's costs for the trip are based on their teams place at the end of the program. Some times the 1st place team goes for free (if sufficient funds are raised), with 2nd place paying a lower amount than 3rd place. This has been a successful program for our ministry.

  Discipleship
Teaching them to obey. We provide programs that are specifically geared toward helping them become more like our Lord and Savior. We look at every event as an opportunity to share God's word, but here are some of the more focused programs:

Teen Service (Wednesday night)
Sunday School
Teen Bible Study (every 2nd Sunday evening)

  Ministry
Love your neighbor as yourself. We help the teens to learn about their gifts and how to use them to help others. Church is not just about developing individuals, but also developing other ministries. We provide ministry opportunities for the spiritual youth, often utilizing the programs outlined in other areas.
  Worship
Love the Lord your God with all your heart. Teaching the young people to praise God and honor Him in our lives and actions. Worship is not about singing, it is something that we do in our hearts -- it is our love and admiration of our God. However, we express our worship of Him through song, praise, service, and how we conduct ourselves. Each service provides worship opportunities, like Praise and Worship - our music portion of the service.
