His full name is Howard Dwyane Dorough.His birthday is August 22nd. Howie is a little different, though. If Howie were to take a special young girl on a perfect date, it definitely wouldnt take place at a sporting event! Howie is a quiet romantic and prefers long candlelit dinners, evenings by the fireplace and intimate discussions. Since his favorite season of the year is winter, he says its the perfect time to cuddle up close with his favorite girl. "I'd really like to sit outside the verandah and watch the snow falling. I'd cuddle close with my girl under warm jackets and a blanket," he muses. Howie says he loves hugs and kisses more than anything because he grew up in a large familiy where everyone was warm and affectionate. "Even now I grab my mom and give her kisses and hugs all over her cheeks and shes like' oh Howard, pleeeease!.'", he says. "When I'm with a girl I'm that same way-I just want to love her to give me plenty. It really touches my heart!" Valuing his friendships with his mates above anything, Howie likes to keep disagreements in check and acts both as the groups' mentor and mediator. But music is everything to this Backstreet Boy! One of Howie's favorite records is Michel Jackson's 1982 album, "Thriller". "Micheal Jackson had a big influence on my life, in terms of inspiring to sing. He's a great artist and incredibly talented", Howie confides. Howie also made an early bid toward a dance and acting career. Before joining the Boys, he laneded several parts in television and films, appearing in the movies COP AND A HALF and PARENTHOOD. As far as television roles, Howie never ventured far past commercials, but he did score a small part in the Nickolaodeon pilot for the program WELCOME FRESHMAN. Howie also has hadclassical training as a ballet dancer and offeredhis talents to Orlando's community theater association.
