The Sniper's Crosshairs

Okay, so your asking yourself just who the hell is the Sniper? Well I am a former pro paintball player. I have played with The Psycho Pigs, The Warriors, The Ghost Ryders as well as helping found Team Big Guns, for whom I was the Senior Drill Instructor. To learn more click here. I also did some consulting work in the paintball field operation end of the industry.

I am now a Civil War Reenactor as the Sergeant of the 8th Regimental Illinois Volunteer Cavalry. The 8th was mustered into service on September 18, 1861 in St. Charles, Illinois and trained at Camp Kane in present day Langham Park. They fought in the pennisula campaign, Mechanicsville, Hanover Court House, Seven Pines, Brandy Station, Middleburg, Upperville, and (of course) Gettysburg. They fired the first shots at the Battle of Gettysburg under General Buford. They also served as the Honor Guard for President Lincoln's Funeral Train. The 8th was reactivated in 1976 for the bicentennial by the Governor of Illinois. We have been active since, and helping to preserve the history of this great military unit.

I am also a Parrothead, what is a Parrothead you ask? Well Parrotheads are the followers of Jimmy Buffett. Who is Jimmy Buffett? Well if you have to ask, I have to wonder what rock you just crawled out from under. Jimmy is known for his blending of island sounds, rock, and country music. It makes for a mello sound that's easy to live by. You can also check out the Chicago Parrothead Club, our motto is "party with a purpose. As an official Parrothead Club, we do charity work and try to follow our motto as best as is humanly possible.

But does the Sniper like photography? Well, I'm glad you asked, yes he does. I am an amature photographer. I usually take pictures of landscapes (they are easier to work with than people). By now you ladies are saying to yourselves "Wow, is he single?" Well sorry to disappoint but I am married and I have a wonderful son. His name is Andrew Thomas and everybody always comments on how handsome and cute he is, followed by how much he looks like his old man (of course I always see this as a personal compliment to myself). I also love Hockey as you may have been able to guess by my having a dog named after Chris Chelios. In case you don't know who Chris Chelios is, he is only the best American defenseman to play the game. It is just a shame that he now plays for the Detroit Red Wings.
