SYNOPSIS
... continued from two episodes previous. Days after Scully's abduction, despite Mulder’s objection that it is still too soon to give up hope, Margaret Scully orders a gravestone for her missing daughter. Not long afterward, Scully’s comatose body mysteriously appears at a Washington, DC hospital. She is hooked to a life support system and her is condition critical. There are no records indicating how she arrived at the hospital, or who brought her there. Mulder is furious. A doctor reveals that Scully’s living will specifically requests termination of life support should such a situation develop. Melissa Scully - Scully’s sister - visits the hospital and she claims that, through channeling, she can communicate with her sister. Scully also receives a visit from Frohike who, along with his colleagues, discovers that Scully’s DNA exhibits signs of genetic tampering. They conclude that, with her immune system decimated, she does not have long to live. When Mulder returns to the hospital, he notices a mysterious man steal a vial containing Scully blood sample. After giving chase, a fight ensues between the two men and suddenly, X emerges from the shadows and shoots the mysterious man. Mulder is shocked at the senselessness of the killing. He does, however, recover the blood sample. Soon after, the Scully’s family complies with Scully’s wish and the life support system is disconnected. Mulder approaches Skinner and demands that he have access to the Cigarette Smoking Man, convinced he is responsible for the conspiracy. But his request is denied. Later, at the hospital, a mysterious woman leaves behind a pack of cigarettes containing the Cigarette Smoking Man’s address. Mulder secretly enters the Cigarette Smoking Man’s apartment and puts a gun to his head. He tells him that if Scully dies then he will be next, and the Cigarette Smoking Man says that he admires Scully and Mulder, which is why Scully was returned. It appears as if the Cigarette Smoking Man holds all the cards; he reminds Mulder that if he dies, he takes all the secrets with him. Realizing that he has arrived at a dead end, Mulder gives Skinner his letter of resignation. Skinner refuses to accept it. Later still, Mulder is approached by X and given information regarding an illegal search that will occur at his apartment, a search that will be performed by government operatives. Mulder is instructed to kill the intruders and claim self-defense. As Mulder waits in the darkness for the agents, Melissa appears at his door. She tells him that Scully’s condition is deteriorating, and she now needs him more than ever at her side. Mulder visits Scully’s bedside and gives her strong words of encouragement. When Mulder returns to his apartment, he finds that it has been ransacked. The next day, Mulder receives a telephone call from the hospital. They have called to say that Scully has regained consciousness. Part III of III.
MY THOUGHTS
Finnaly we get back to the real episodes after that week long vacation ,and it didn't let down.. The only bad thing I could think of was it did get a bit a little sappy at times.I'm a shipper but at times it was even too much for me...
