Hey everybody, how is everyone?
Um, well to start off this post this week I was on the phone the other
night with one of my friends and we were talking about silverchair (big
surprise) we got on the subject of them graduating and all that stuff, and then we
were thinking, do they have a prom coming up soon? Cause if Australia's
school year, even though it is very diffrent then our American school
year, if they are graduating in November shouldn't their prom be relitivly soon?
Just wondering if anybody knows this tell me okie?
Speaking of them graduating, I remember a while back Daniel saying that he
was going to move out of his family's house when he turns 19, that's like
in a few months really, like half a year or so, so what kinda changes do you
think that's going to present? Do you think he'll actually move out?
With regards to Daniel's recent fasination with swearing, I personally see
no harm in it. In fact, I see the same kinda thing with most of the
teenage boys I know! Once they hit a certin age it's like they will try and fit
'Fuck' or whatever into as many sentences as posible. I personaly think
it's rather funny, I mean it's not like he means any harm by it.. it's just
stupid!
Now, back to the questions of the week..
Okie, so if I could pick a song to represent each of them (Daniel, Ben,
Chris) I'd have to go with these:
Ben: .A.D.I.D.A.S. by KoRn, it's perfect i'm telling you! *heh* I mean, if
you haven't heard the song you probably won't understand but as far as I
know, this is Ben's theme song. Hell, he even choose to see the video for
it when they were on JBTV!
Daniel: hmm.. Well, any of his songs really. Maybe The Closing. But if I
had to pick a song for him by another band I might pick The Deftone's
Bored(his choice song on JBTV) I mean, he always just seems so Bored lately..Or
maybe Faget by KoRn, *heh* no really, I mean think about it, Faget's about being
teased about being gay and stuff.. and I dunno Daniel just seems like he'd
be teased and tourchered or maybe he even is like that.. I have heard SO
many rumors that he's actually gay..those are just my ideas for him as of
now.
Chris: god.. I dunno.. Chris is so I duno. I can't think of a song that
might be remotly for him *heh* oh well!
And for a group theme I'm going to have to go with Minor Threat, by Minor
Threat. It's just so perfect for them!
And now my thoughts on Isreal's Son: This song I can't say I realate to,
really, but when I'm really pissed this is the song that I need to blast.
It's really the perfect outlet for anger as far as music goes.. the music
as well as the lyrics are the perfect sounds for someone's anger building up,
like how it starts out just kinda simple with Chris' bassline, but it's
driven and you deffonitly hear a point to it, and then everything sotra
builds up and then at the end it's just all this rage and it just kinda
explods. Not to mention it's a hella good song to mosh too! And they
lyrics are so expressive of hate and anger and rage. I love this song!
Alright that's it from me this week,

Okay, here's my boring review! My bestfriend and I got to Tinley Park
around 2. I held my breath as we were checked because my mom had a camera hidden
in her bag for me. Luckily it wasn't found, so we ditched my mom and went to
watch the other bands. My favorite on the main stage was defintely Local
H, after they were done Heather and I walked around waiting for Veruca Salt
to play. We wandered over to the second stage to see what was going on when I
saw Katie, who I'd gone to my last silverchair show with in Milwaukee, and
her friend Kindra. They'd been standing by the gate, that was keeping us
unimportant people away from the bands, for a few hours watchng the band.
I was mad I'd missed silverchair arriving, but I also decided I was glad I
wasn't so pathetic that I missed all the other great bands to stand by a
gate. We decided to stay for a while, just to talk to Katie of course
(yeah right), and Ben comes out to tune his drums. Veruca Salt was soon
forgotten. All the little teenies scream for him to come over, including the little
ten year old beside me who has purple hair and who told me earlier she wanted
to marry Ben. I was a bit embarrassed but stayed to observe.
Every once in a while it looked like he might come over but he never did
=( Then just as I was about to leave to find a good place to stand I see my
friend Carrie on the other side of the gate. I must have stood there for a
full minute with my mouth open, when I yelled at her to come talk to me.
It turns out she somehow talked her way back there. I was jealous, but at
least she could give me a full report. So finally we left the gate to get a good
spot to see the 'chair. It was already pretty packed, but we were able to
shove our way up to about 6 rows back in the center, a bit closer to the
left side. silverchair finally comes out and starts with madman. The pit
goes wild. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the worst one I've ever
been in. It wasn't long before I couldn't stand or breathe. I needed to get
out, but I was enveloped with people with no escape route, I panicked a little
but somehow Heather was able to grab me and pull me all the way up to the
front where we hung on to the barricade just a bit to the left of Daniel.
It was the perfect place to see, and you were able to jump around with out
totally falling on your ass. I got a couple of pictures which didn't
really turn out all that well, but oh, well. It was suffocatingly hot and
security people kept pouring water over top of everyone. It felt good until this
one moron kept throwing it repeatedly right in my face! I saw tons of people
carried out hurt and crying, and no one could get the crowd to calm down.
Daniel made it worse when he said something like "I don't see a solution
for this so jump motherfuckers jump!" Everytime he'd say this it got worse but
it still rocked! Daniel kept talking about coming down to kick our asses,
and about going to the hood. And when he started a chours of halleluiah I
was a bit disturbed, he was weird. I don't know how to describe it, but it
was just so memorized what he was going to say, and frankly I don't
understand why he feels the needs to swear repeatedly to get out
attention, like silverado said last issue, it starts out funny, but after a while it
jut sounds stupid. I must say I loved Daniel's dreads, and once Ben looked
over where we were standing and when I waved i swear he smiled (ok, I
know I was probably hallucinating but I can think this is I want to!) They
played my fave Spawn, and then Isreal's Son and it was over way too soon. Heather
and I found Katie after the show, she and Kindra had been taken to first
aid, and Kindra was taken to the hospitial, ouch!
But this was the best show I've ever been to! If you read all this,
thank-you I know it wasn't real exciting reading!

Hey all you freaks and a special hey there to Heidi~~~
To Raven~
Ben's theme song~~~ ADIDAS by Korn. Tell me that's not perfect for him.
Chris, hmmm... "Silent All these Years" by Tori Amos. Well, perhaps just
the chorus of the song. and Daniel... I have to pick "The Closing". That
is an autobiography, IMO.
One last thing (sorry Heidi, babe, for advertising..hehehe). Go visit my
page and enter the contest. It's really easy!!!! =) And then go join the
Isle of Gillies. We were orignially the Gillies Fighters, but after that
small bit, we expanded. I mean, come on, Ben deserves more than an army.
He still has one. Our island needs protection.
I'm done speaking now....

Hi everyone! umm.. sorry for not posting the last couple of times, but
I've been soooo busy with school and stuff. OK.. I think Israel's Son is
an awesome song. It's great to listen to when you're angry at someone..
and I mean REALLY angry at someone since it talks about killing people
and all. I'm not saying that I'm like a murderer or anything, but
Israel's Son is just soo cool musically and lyrically.
I just wanted to ask any Canadian people on this list if they like
either Our Lady Peace, the Age Of Electric, or the Tea Party. If any
canadian people like them, please email me and we can talk about how
much they kick ass :)
SILVERADO- I feel your pain. the closest city to me is Winnipeg, too,
and it really makes me mad how 'chair haven't went there yet. I figured
they would do the Winnipeg Edgefest date.. oh well, Edgefest still
kicked ass. Anyways, I just wanted to say how I feel the same way as you
do.
I think that a theme song for Ben would definitely be A.D.I.D.A.S. by
KoRn. (ya know.. all day I dream about sex). Sorry if that offended
anyone, but I think it's true :)

Hi guys =)*
Sorry, I haven't read my mail for awhile, so I'm catching up now! About
Spawn - I think it's about being "trendy" or a "poser." The part where
he says, "Too involved with the new transition..." I think is about
trying to keep up with trends and what everyone else is doing. Then, the
part about the "hypocritical vision" is about how people that follow
trends love to call everyone else posers! I never thought of it being
about drugs or anything, but maybe it's just because I despise labels and
everyone here has one! ;)
And about the things that annoy you about silverchair - I loved what
everyone wrote! Everyone laughs at Daniel now! It's not just Heidi and
me! ;) I hate how he acts all deep in interviews now... and how he plays
with his hair... and how he wears so much clothes! But that's just my
opinions from interviews. Everyone I know that met him thought he was
extremely nice! And in regards to what that person said about him
swearing (sorry, I forget your name), I think it's cool that he's vulgar
- It's part of his personality! ;)
Take care,
