~*SILVERCHAIR NEWS*~
Well, I haven't got much silverchair news this week. I have heard from a few people, that the next silverchair album will be coming out sometime late 1998 or early 1999. The reason it won't be for a while is because since they are all almost done with school, they want to have some time just to hang out and relax, and I think they desirve it! They have been touring and doing school and everything for a while now. They should get a change to relax if they want to. September 4th is the MTV music video awards so be sure to watch and see if all our voting payed off for silverchair and they will get the Best Australian Music Video Award! A bunch of dates in Australia have also been set for later this year. And check out the latest issues of Hit Parader and Circus magazine for some new silverchair stuff.

Subject: cicada.. can't think of anything clever this week..

Hey,
Alright here goes my post this week. Well since I already said a lot in the intro here's my thoughts on Cicada: Well, Cicada was never one of my favorite songs on Frogstomp, but of course I never hated it, I don't think it's posible for me to hate a silverchair song. But I do in fact feel a conection with this song, like how I feel like my life keeps getting worse ands stuff, maybe I'm just like negitive or something. And kinda the way I see it, like at first in the part "when he was just a little boy.." it kinda makes me feel like the kid was like sort if a happy kinda caring kid ("and he had nothing on his mind he never left anything behind") so anyway, and then how "now that he was in his teens" i kinda feel like i am starting to feel what life means now, but bad thigns are still happing to me, and it sucks.
Sorry this is so short, but I wanted to say that I do really relate to that song, even more so now that I think about it. Now on to other things.

HAPPIST SILVERCHAIR MEMORY: Um.. Well, I think it was probably the concert in Feburary at the vic. It was my first real pit, and I just felt so like, one with the crowd and the band and stuff. I was so happy and hyper and stuff, it was great, and I felt like I got a lot out of it emotionaly in a way as w ell cause I was actually kinda depressed around the time of the concert, and Just like singing along with Daniel and the rest of the crowd too I kinda got out some of my anger and stuff, and I just felt so happy and like really glad to be there and stuff. And then I was waiting around afterwards cause my Dad was late picking me up and silverchair (w/their bodygards and stuff) came walking right past me, I was just so thrilled! And all the teenies went running after them as they got on their tour buss, but I just kinda held back and laughed at the people chasing them. But it was one of the best nights of my life! I just had so much fun!

JASMIN: *lol* i loved your dream that kicks ass! I have had so many very strange dreams realated to silverchair, maybe one issue we can talk about that kinda stuff.

Alright that's it! Gotta go

"Pop Song For Us Rejects" is all too familiar to me. I've had so many friends get involved in hard drugs. Just recently, a bunch of kids in my grade got arrested and charged with drug possession, and now their lives are ruined. In the song, the lyrics talk about how sad it is to see a friend get addicted to drugs. The lyrics also express how one needs to leave a friend who's gotten so far on drugs that they can't come back, but also how hard that can be. For my own sake, i've had to stop being friends with a lot of people because of their drug use. And sure enough, they got in trouble later on....and i was glad that i had gotten away, tho i felt very sad. "Pop Song For Us Rejects" should be a theme song for the high school years--it sure is like a theme to me.

(Note from Heidi: even tho this was last weeks song to talk about, I'm still printing it, cause I think it's a pretty good post so don't worry about sending stuff in late, I'm going to print whatever I get whenever it gets here)

my happiest silverchair memory is when i went to their concert. it was really a great show, of course. it made me feel so high and all. then afterwards i bought my shirt and my poster and i went out back and waited for them to go to their bus and i was really close when they came out and then ben opened a window on started signing stuff and i got him to sign my poster. then when the bus started pulling out everyone waved and left for home. but there were like 6 people that didn't go and i was one of them. the bus had to circle around to leave so the remaining people ran across the parking lot to wave some more. we were all spread out enough that the bus passed by us at different times. and Daniel waved at me and only me. i felt so special. i like to think that if he could have we might have just talked. bye-bye. love, kelly.

Cicada is one of those songs i really relate to. "growing up is like a civil war." it really is everything inside conflicts and nothing seems to go right, especially when you are severely depressed. "as he got older thingsgot worse, like he'd been born under a curse. things started to fall apart." that's how it was for me. all my friends and i drifted apart and i found new ones. parents are a problem becuz they want you to be a kid but have responsibility and everything inside changes and no one seems to understand. it used to make me just want to die. the song is kind of hopeful becuz it shows that some one understands and it says that it has to happen. you can't avoid all of it.

Hey all....well, last night i had the weirdest dream about Silverchair, so i thought i'd share it with all of you (i bet you're thrilled :) I was at Dulles Airport (near D.C.), waiting to catch a plane and they had just finished building a huge ampitheater (don't ask me why--it's just a dream). Silverchair were playing a surprise gig there, but i overheard some ppl talking about it so i got down front before anyone else. Daniel came out in this ringmaster costume (?) and they played a whole bunch of songs. I was standing right at the edge of the stage, and i was swooning over Daniel. Then all of a sudden Daniel transformed to look like my BROTHER! It was creepy. I have no idea what that dream meant, but i thought it was kinda funny....so that's all!

Hi ya's all...
My happiest silverchair related memory is the concert, I was so exsited when I was told silverchair would be up I bought tickets on the day they were sold and they sold out that day. I never even dreamed silverchair would come here cos of I live in the smallest town since cowboy movies were outdated... I was there with my four best friends It was one of the best nights of my life even though it was VERY short and it was hard to breath with all the "moshers" and I got squished and every part of my body ached an I almost fell over (which turned out OK cos of this really cute guy with blond hair an a nirvana shirt held me up so I didn't fall)and I got drenched in every possible drink (water beer liqour (spelling?) wine Whiskey Bourbon coke lemonade etc.)! But I was so surprised cos I was actually HAPPY... I was happy and it was drug or alcohol induced it was just plane old happiness and I was so surprised... it was the best feeling.
C-Ya's!!! C.

Hello everyone!!! Woo hoo!!! (as you can tell I am in an extrememly good mood on this fine day) Well, I must apologize for not posting during the previous weeks, with organizing trades, trying not to get into debt, working on me page, my list, and a bit of other stuff thrown in there too.... but I'm gonna try and postevery week from now on!!!

Ok, hmmm...... my most happy silverchair moment would be at the concert I was at. It was back in April, and it was my first time seeing them live ever due to an overprotective mother. But anyways, it felt so awesome. I still have trouble realizing that I saw silverchair. They were in the same room (ok, it was a massively gigantic room, but still) and I was in 4th row, right in front of Chris!!! I had trouble believing it. It still seems like a dream to me, cuz I love silverchair so much. Ok, I'm weird.

Cicada: I have no clue why so many people hate this song. Yeah, it wasn't my fave when I first heard it, but when I put Frogstomp in now, that's the first song I listen to. I like it a lot (as with all 'chair songs). It has a great meaning to it, and I relate to it quite a bit. The part "as he grew older things got worse" is so true to me. Life just gets harder, more complicated, more stuff to do and to worry about as we get older. Problems are still appearing, only they are worse than before.

Ok, one last thing: does anyone know of a place online that you can order silverchair pics, Cd's, posters, etc.... besides www.silverchair.net/order, cdnow.com, www.cduniverse.com, and www.concertposter.com. I'd prefer if the places were reliable, so don't tell me about 'em if you haven't ordered from them. ThanX!!

Amanda
