Excert fromBirth of the Twins
Down in the conference room Rogreth the king of Tanith Zar is conversing with several sorcerers. Balcazar, Areamena, and Rolan. The all wear the robes of their colors. Balcazar has midnight blue with silver for master sorcerer, Areamena has red with gold for master healer, And Rolan has gold on pale red for apprentice healer.
The metal threads shine in the sun, making the sorcerers glitter. Rogreth looks plain by comparison, he has a violet tunic belted with gold, one would doubt that he is the king of Panacalas. Rogreth and Areamena both have the long lean look of the Rezick clan, with the typical dark eyes and hair. Rolan and Rogreth both look different then any of the clan people, medium height with blue eyes and blond hair. There are six clans in Tanith Zar, Rezick, Vasture, Gelfon, Behan, Tuwosk, and Revon. Some of the clans have their own land, but the Revon and Rezick are nomadic. They are horseback warriors, they live by a code of honor. The code is, "Thy will is Thy own, but do no harm to others." There have been no magic users from either of those two clans, until Balcazar and Areamena.
The ruling family has been in place for thousands of years, and Rolan is the firstborn of the last king. But because of an unwritten rule, saying that magic users can't be rulers, his younger brother is the king. Rolan is the elder by five years, but Rolan looks younger then his brother. They are both in their mid twenties. Rolan has a face that can only be called innocent, and Rogreth looks like he has a perpetual frown.
The sorcerers are helping Rogreth with the magic light show, that will be on the eve of Summer Solstice. Suddenly the three of them receive a desperate cry for help. All three sorcerers take off, leaving Rogreth talking to himself.
"What the? Hey where are you going?" he takes of after them. "What's wrong?"
"Kitana." Areamena turns her head slightly to look at him. "What tower was she posted to?"
"Why?"
"Because we need to know dammit!" Rolan stops, Rogreth is unable to stop in time and runs into him. The others stop as well. Rolan turns to face his brother.
"Look, all we need to know is what level of what tower."
"And if I don't want to tell you?" he rubs his jaw where it hit Rolans shoulder.
"Then tell me." Balcazar turns the king to face him.
"Because if you don't, she could die."
"Tower three, level 12."
"Thanks, your highness."
The three sorcerers take off once again. This time Rogreth doesn't follow. He goes over to one of the walls and hunts for a symbol, there is a mural embedded in the wall of a dragon in flight, the dragons eyes are level with a human shoulder. He pushes the dragons eye into the wall and turns it to the right. A section of the wall swings inward, revealing a set of steps leading upward. He checks to see if there is anyone around, then slips into the passage.
