Dealers I Have Known

11/03/00
When you think of the typical drug dealer you usually think of someone seedy and sinister. Or at least that's how they're depicted in movies and TV, for the most part. Well I was friends with two very non-stereotypical dealers and I aim to explain their stories.

Person one came from a large single parent, middle class white family. She was 14 and an A student. Then one day her new friends lured her into the world of heroin and somehow she became a dealer.

The second case is much sadder; at least I think so. This 15 year old boy, who was really smart and talented, but came from a slightly poorer family and wanted to continue going to private school, took up drug dealing as a way to continue his tuition for the remainder of high school. To further his education, if you will.

I lost touch with both friends but I still think about them and hope they figured out another way to make money.
