The purpose of this Web-Site is to disseminate information in times of natural and man-made disasters and to provide a gateway from the internet to SATERN for locating and determining the health and welfare of people in the disaster areas.

SATERN (Ham Radio) volunteers have provided logistical and Health and Welfare communications during many disasters including: the tornado in Plainfield Illinois, Hurricane Andrew in Florida, the widespread flooding along the Mississippi River, the airplane crashes near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Roselawn, Indiana, the "Great Chicago Flood", the floods in North Dakota, Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and Nicaragua, Hurricane Floyd, the earthquakes in Colombia, Turkey and Taiwan, the tornadoes in Oklahoma and Kansas and many others.
