Rhodes - An Entrance to the "Old City"
During the crusades, the Knights of St. John made Rhodes their
bastion. In the medieval fashion, they fortified the area now
known as the "Old City" with gigantic walls and turrets. There
are relatively few openings. Here's one. Certainly the knights
did things on a grand scale!
