Museum at Heraklion - A Bull's head libation vase

The Bull symbolized the Minoan civilization which flourished in the second millenium B.C. Minoan craftsmanship was incredible for such an early period. This bull is really a kind of ancient world "decanter bottle"--with substantially more artistic merit than the binocular bottles, whiskey cannons, and hollow automobiles that are valued by today's collectors of "decanter- ware".
