During the months of December and January, The Post 330 Honor Guard conducted 6 Post Everlasting and 4 Funeral Service Ceremonies for deceased members of Post 330.

I am pleased to announce that Ben Wisniewski has volunteered for Honor Guard Service.  Welcome aboard Benny!

On Saturday, December 14th, Frank Bolda and myself represented Post 330 at the Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home's Family remembrance Ceremony.  five Candles were lighted symbolizing Mother, Fathers, Aunts, Uncles, Children, Grandparents, Husbands, Wives, and Friends.  Frank Bolda lit a sixth candle in remembrance of those who perished on September 11, 2001.

On Sunday, December 15th, Art Harrison posted our Legion's Colors at the "Salute 2001" Ceremony.  Our Post 330 member Bill Franker was one of the five men that were recognized and honored for their heroism while serving their country in military service.

On Friday evening, December 15th, Post 330 hosted the Annual Honor Guard Dinner.  Invited guests were Mr. & Mrs. Leo Hennessy, Miss Monica Rodriguez, Manager of the Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, and Mr. & Mrs. Rich Dominiak, Lansing Memorial Ceremonial Honor Guard Coordinator.  I wish to thank Leo Hennessy for his donation of floral table center pieces, which brightened up our dinner tables.

In the dark days after the Post 330 building fire back in 1995, when there was no money available for the Annual Honor Guard Dinner, Leo Hennessy and Art Harrison made certain that Honor Guard Annual Dinner would continue by donating their own funds to make sure that this traditional dinner could be held.  Gentlemen, words can not thank you  enough.  And to the Ladies in the kitchen, Julie and Beverly, the food and service were outstanding.  Thanks also to Bill Parsanko and Alex Wojcikiewicz for your help in making our dinner a success.  To the 2001-2001 Honor Guard members, I want to extend my appreciation for your loyalty and devotion to duty.

Thank you to Monica Rodriguez and Art Harrison for your generous donations to the Honor Guard Fund.

Where were you on Super Bowl Sunday?  If you weren't at the SAL Super Bowl Blast you missed a good time.  There were about 160 that enjoyed the game on two large screens, good food and spirits and lots of door prizes.  Activities Chairman Frank Orsini Jr. and his committee worked hard for the enjoyment of our guests.

With the Super Bowl behind us, your Squadron will be working with the Post on the 2002 Golf Outing.  We will try for early June at a course close to Calumet City if possible.  And as in the past we will do all we can to keep the fees reasonable.

Regular meetings are held on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:30PM at the Post Home.  Feel free at attend a meeting - all members are welcome.
