I have found the secret to happiness and it is contained in one simple task. "Hug a tree." That's right. Don't look at me like that. I'm serious. How many sad tree huggers are there out there? Have you ever seen someone run up to a tree and embrace it in their arms and then immediately begin whining and complaining about the horrors of their life? No! It is a simple fact, hugs make people happy. Giving and receiving hugs (come on guys, admit it) comforting and relaxing, like those days where you hang around your house in pajamas all day. And unlike people, trees do not discriminate or differentiate between people. They do not only receive hugs from "certain" people. They rejoice in hugs from anyone, whether young, old, blue eyed with brown hair, green eyed with blond hair, popular, lonely, happy, grieving, beautiful, or plain. They rejoice in hugs from you. And I can tell you from experience, when your face is pressed up against the rough bark and your arms meet on the other side of their trunk, a sudden wind begins to blow and you can almost hear the leaves rustling "Thank you." That is the best feeling in the world.
