The Rest of Our Lives

Author Unspecified

Have you ever asked yourself the question, "What am I doing for the rest of my life?"

It is an interesting question full of possiblilities.

Would it be good to know just how long the rest of our life is?

Would we do things differently if we knew we were given the gift of one more day, ten more years, or two weeks?

And why would it matter? Would it provide focus? Being the coward I am, I do not wish to know the legnth of 'the rest of my life.; It would pre-occupy me and peraps even immobilize me. Instead of producing the most good, I would probably cease to produce at all. Another person might do just the opposite.

I guess the point or the question isn't about the rest of my life, but what am I doing, now in this precious gift of this moment, to make life better for others?

This moment IS the rest of my life---yours, too.
