Chapter 1
In the Beginning
Pure consciousness...that is what we are. We were once humans. We were born like you and we lived like you, long, long ago. You do not know us for what we are, though we have been with you since our creation, in the land that you believe to be a myth, the place you call Atlantis. We have kept our presence secret since its fall, but now you must know our story, because you, with your technology, are in danger of the same fate. This is our story. We pray that it does not become yours.
We, the Atlanteans, were fascinated with the mind. We learned the limits of our mental abilities and pushed them farther. We developed our minds to the fullest. We were able to eventually control objects and events. This was to be our downfall. We became overly confident of our abilities and began manipulating events that we never should have. Eventually it threw the earth off balance and we destroyed ourselves, as well as may other nations of people. If you continue on the path you are on now, your technology will do the same.
I, Ceara, was a child when it became apparent that we were heading for disaster. At first is was spoken of in hushed whispers: certain unknown Atlanteans were leaving and using their powers to take over other nations. This had been happening since we had discovered our powers so long ago, but never before had we had such control over them. We developed the ability to manipulate the earth itself but could not control events completely. Those who wanted to dominate others used the earth to do this, creating storms, floods, earthquakes, plagues, and anything else they could to incite fear in the people they took over. It created chaos over the earth. Too late they saw the consequences of their actions.
When it became obvious that we could not avert disaster, and that it would probably result in our destruction, we started looking for ways to save ourselves. Few of us could actually leave Atlantis. The weather was terrible and now beyond our control. Some tried to sail away anyway. Most of the boats were torn apart. Most of those who made it to safer land were killed by natives who feared the power they had. Only a very small number lived, and their few remaining years were miserable.
Those of us who stayed looked to the power that was destroying us for the miracle we so desperately needed. Some tried to use their power to bring the earth back into balance, to bring the weather patterns back to normal. It might have worked if they had more time. Others gave up on our physical survival and began looking for a way to preserve our knowledge so that at a later time people might be able to use it. That is how I, along with others, came to be in my present state.
Our powers were based purely in science. Although we did not have the machines you have, we knew about what you now call quantum physics. We could "see" it in our minds. You are just beginning to realize that everything is made up of small particles, which in turn are made of pure energy. You also know that this energy is simply "waves." Everything, all matter, is made up of waves. Our mind was made up of waves. You are able to pick up objects in your hands, which is simply the waves that make your hands manipulate the waves of the object you have picked up. The waves that make up your brain are sending waves that control your arm and hand. Is it then impossible to use your mind to control waves that you are not in direct contact with, such as the waves that make up a building, the weather patterns, or the ocean? This was what we could do.
We had nothing of what you call religion or spiritual beliefs. We felt that it was beneath us to believe in the things the people we considered primitive believed in. A small group started looking at their beliefs, though. Perhaps the answer could be found there. We finally came to the conclusion that our science did not disprove their beliefs but rather encompassed them. We "saw" our own souls for the first time, and that led us to our solution.
Chapter 2
The Solution
Before the onset of the disaster, we had no concept of the spirit. It was nonsense to us. We believed everything had a basis in the physical world. When our scientists started looking at the beliefs of other people, most thought it was a complete waste of time. We were wrong. The scientists looked at the concept of spirit . What they found is that like the physical world, the spirit is made of energy, of waves. They were at a different frequency than that of the physical world, though. We found that our physical world is only one of many different worlds, and that at certain levels of consciousness we could see, or even interact with these worlds.
We discovered that we could change our own wave frequency and go to some of these other "realities." We saw the answers to our problems beginning to surface. We had little time to experiment, though. Time was running short. At most we had only a few days remaining before Atlantis would be destroyed. We had to act!!!
Some opted to go to other realities to live in peace. They knew if anything happened there, they could always leave again. The majority decided against this, though. They saw that even if the Atlanteans who left now did not use their power for wrong, that their later descendants would have the same powers that we did. Eventually one or more would come along who would use their power for personal gain and the destruction would start again. If we started colonizing other realities, we would spread like cancer. No, whatever we did, it would have to stay a part of this reality.
We theorized, we argued for and against the different options that we could see, and finally made a decision. If we could not think of another alternative before the destruction of Atlantis, we would change the wave frequency of our physical body so that it was the same as that of our souls. Some tried this for short periods of time and were able to keep the powers they had. If we could learn to transport ourselves in this form and find a place without people so that we could start over, it just might work. If we could not, though, we did not know what would become of us. For that reason we made this our last option to use if we cold not come up with anything else.
In the end, the disaster came sooner than we ever expected, and the results of it were farther reaching than any of us had imagined. It began with tremors shaking the very foundations of the island of Atlantis. Massive waves hit the shore and tore at the island. We ended up acting on our original plan and changing the frequency of our physical bodies. In that form, we watched the island shake and break apart. We saw the waves slowly overcome the island of our childhood and felt the sorrow of our loss slowly overcome us like the waves overcame the island.
In a sense we were like ghosts, floating over the Earth. We saw the mass destruction our people had caused. We saw the people who had lost their homes wander across the land and drop from starvation and plagues. We saw their fallen homes and failed crops destroyed by the elements we had unleashed upon them. We felt guilt for all that had happened to these innocents. Although we had not been the ones who caused the disaster, we had done nothing to stop it, so therefore we reasoned that we were just as guilty.
In time we found safe haven. It was then that we figured out just how far reaching the disaster was. It changed the way the waves worked. We could not change back to our physical selves without massive efforts, and then we could remain in the physical for only short periods of time. We could not manipulate our powers as we had before. It was now much harder to do even the simplest things with our minds.
Chapter 3
Powers
We were horrified. We had become what we were knowing it was only temporary and that as soon as we found safety we could change back. To find out that we could not go back and live normal lives again was devastating to us. We did not know what to do.
For a while we simply floated across the Earth. We saw more of the damage our fellow Atlanteans had done. In time we came to accept what had happened, but in our hearts I believe we all made a vow to use what little power we had to make sure nothing like it would ever happen again.
We started experimenting with the powers we had left. We already knew that we could become human again for short periods of time. We found that with enough effort we could also still affect other physical objects, we could move them or change them. We learned to see what went on in people's minds. We did not do it to be nosy, but to find out who we could trust. We could communicate with people from our current state if they were open to us. Most people could not see us in the state we were in. Those who could often thought of us as angels or guardian spirits. We are not. We have communicated with those entities that are, though.
At first we wondered, since we were essentially spirits, why we could still feel things such as exhaustion, and also how we could eventually regain energy we had lost. We came to the conclusion that we became exhausted because we still had our physical bodies, even if they were in a different form. How we were able to regain energy when we had done something that drained us, though, took us much longer to figure out. By observation we found that we took it from the land around us. We believe that when we were still in Atlantis, before the disaster, the energy was much more abundant than it is now. Because of that we were able to use it without ever tiring . The disaster drained most of the energy from the land, and now we do not have it available to use to affect the energy that other matter consists of.
We are still unsure why we cannot change back to what we were before for long. It seems logical that we would reverse back to our natural state. As near as we can tell, though, the disaster made what we are now our "natural" state. We have no other explanation. Perhaps someday we will find out for certain.
Chapter 4
History
We have been with you since the disaster. We have watched civilizations rise and fall, and new ones rise to take their place. We saw the pyramids grow in ancient Egypt and the rise and fall of Rome. The people who built Stonehenge did so partly under our guidance. Without our influence, much of your history would be very different.
We have on occasion intervened with the course of events, as we are doing now. Sometimes it has been on a large scale, such as communicating with certain leaders throughout history. Other times it has been as simple as helping one small child through a bad situation. Some may ask why we even bother with trivial things like the life of one person, when throughout history there have always been huge life-shattering events such as war and plagues. Our answer is that most of the time we cannot change those life-shattering events, so we try to help some of the people who are going through the worst of them
We have comforted those who have been affected by war. One of the worst was World War II. Not only was it terrible for the fighting, but also for what you call the Holocaust. We were present in Auschwich and many of the other concentration camps. We saw as no one else but the German soldiers did, the horrors of the attempted genocide of the Jewish people. We did what we could to ease their pain. Sometimes we simply directed feelings of comfort to them. Other times our physical presence was needed to console them. Of course we could not help even half of those who came in, though. There were far too many. The horror of that time is still fresh on our memories.
Over time we have aided many others who were not affected by war. Some of those we helped became famous. Others, due to facts changing over time and sometimes our own lack of foresight, are seen as infamous. We cannot tell you all of their names. Some, though, you are familiar with. Alexander The Great, Albert Einstein, and the less well-known Edgar Cayce are some of them. We helped them and others because we felt that people could use some help at that time.
All of us have had moments of doubt in this. Who are we to decide why one person rather than another should be helped? Why should some people be protected and others left to endure the events beyond their control? We believe in a higher force, as most of you do. Why should we interfere with what may be the will of that being? These are the questions that run through our minds. We don't know the answers. The only thing we can do is what we believe to be right. Sitting back and allowing things to happen is what allowed the disaster that made us what we are. This is why we cannot just let things happen. We cannot allow others to suffer when we can do something about it.
