Unfortunate Happiness

The light is approaching
I heard a sound
The noise getting closer
I look all around

My eyes are deceiving me
Or maybe they are not
I see an old friend
Saying I'm in the right spot

But how could this be
My dear friend was "gone"
But there he stands before me
There must be something wrong

My friend looked at me solemnly
Without even twitching a lash
He said "My friend, I have good news.
You did not survive that crash."

I looked at him and said "Good News?
Whatever do you mean?"
He placed his arm around me and said
"Behold this beautiful scene."

I looked in the distance and over the hills
My jaw dropped down in awe
You see, death is nothing to be frightened of
It is nothing bad at all.
