I have grown up listening to Elliniki Mousiki and I have also grown to love it. -- OPA RE PAIDIA!! One of my "turn around" songs was S' ANAZHTW STHN SALONIKH by good old Mitropanos. My personal favorite DANEIO ZWHS which I came to find out 2 years after hearing it that it belongs tou the best Noti Sfakianaki.
As you can tell my favorites are the good old and new ZEIBEKIKA. Some of my favorite artists are obviously Sfakianakis, Mitropanos, Gonidis, Dalaras, Terlegas, Karras, Dimitriou, Terzis, et al. But I also like good old artists such as Mixailidis, Mpi9ikotsis, Zagoraios, Tsitsanis, Aggelopoulos, Dionysiou, Kazantzidis, Marinalla, Voula Palla, Sakelariou and others. Of coarse I also like the great writers in that of Basilis Tsitsanis & Apostolos Kaldaras.
Well through the years I have gone to concerts to see these artists perform whenever I have had a chance. In the Fall of 1996, however, Notis was touring North America. Being the singer who sang my favorite song I obviously went. It was a four hour concert that left me speechless. This guy was real. And there I went to see another concert of his, some 500 miles away or so, a week later. The guy is amazing. I had followed him closely since 1994 and had grown to love his songs -- "O AETOS", "DEN PONESA", "DANEIO ZWHS", "FWTIA KI ALMYRA", "SWMA MOU", "OLLA TA EIDA", and the many other songs he has given us but this was incredible. Needless to say he has become my favorite artist and Noti if you ever read this -- "EYXARISTW GIA TA TRAGOUDIA POU MAS XARISES".
