"Fat Chance"

One of Sodoms' sin's was that of being fat and ignoring the people that was in need. Look at God's Word and tell me what do you see.

EZ. 16:49 "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, (gluttony) and abundance of idleness (laziness) was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy."

What does "laziness and gluttony" produce? Fat people! God brought fire down on Sodom for that damning sin. God said it, not me.

Did you know that the New Testament teaches the same:

PHIL. 3:18-19 "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.)"

To "worship their stomach" is to be fat and is as "living as enemies of the cross of Christ"... That is to be "headed for hell". It's as clear as it can be. Right there in Paul's words to the church.

Are you aware God laid this law down with the death penalty in the Old Testament?

DEUT. 21:20-21 "And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son [is] stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; [he is] a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear."

And to think there are actually fat people, gluttons, in the pulpits of our churches! Listen to me Saints, that "falling away" is coming upon us in this day. The "Fat Chance" sinners will put their own spin on these verses and try to justify their wickedness, but it's easy to see what God plainly stated.

Now I am not saying to throw the lazy pride filled gluttons out of the church, but lets get a life. God does not change His mind about those who fill their own belly and ignore those who are in need. Many a man and that includes the preacher, want to be the first in line to fill their belly, when the Word of God reminds us in Acts 20:35 ( Paul speaking in a quotation of Jesus which is not written in any of the gospels, but we know according to John 21:25 that not all things were recorded) "I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."

We need to look at ourselves and examine to see if we are a pleasing example of what God desires of our lives.
