Triangles are named for their sides or for their angles.
Sides:
If a triangle has sides all the
same length, the triangle is equilateral.
If a triangle has two sides the
same length, the triangle is isosceles.
If a triangle has sides of all
different lengths, the triangle is scalene.
Angles:
If a triangle has one obtuse angle,
the triangle is an obtuse triangle.
If a triangle has three acute angles,
the triangle is an acute triangle.
If a triangle has one ninety degree
angle, the triangle is a right triangle.
* The three angles of a triangle total 180°.
* The individual measured angles of an equiangular triangle is 60°.
* An equilateral triangle is also an equiangular triangle.
