I am happy to have been invited to work on the current issue of King Log with Founding Editor David Starkey, whose work (especially his ground-breaking series of poems on Danny Bonaduce in the late Eighties) has always been an inspiration for me. I find reading and re-reading the extraordinarily bold, varied, and masterful work in this issue to be exciting and humbling.
Mr. Starkey and I are inviting applications for the position of third editor--not an adjunct, but an editor with an equal voice in what is published in King Log. Any applicants should read the current issue and previous issues of the journal so that they can have an idea of the esthetic outlook behind King Log and judge whether they are at least in rough accord with it. (Those who dislike Frank O'Hara, for example, should probably not apply.) Preference will be given to applicants who have expertise in Web Design and who have graduated from or are well along in poetry M.F.A. programs. To make editorial communications easy, preference will also go to residents of Southern California.
