Robert Lipton, in spite of his best efforts, continues in his day job studying the epidemiology of tobacco, alcohol and health. In 2002, against the advice of anyone who is not on extremely strong anti-psychotics, he spent five weeks in Palestine, helping non-violently to resist Israeli occupation. Poetry breaks out at unexpected times. His manuscript, Wire Mother, is due to be published this year.
