Louis E. Bourgeois

Louis E. Bourgeois was born in New Orleans in 1970 and raised in New Orleans East along the Bayou Sauvage. In 2002, he became the first graduate of the University of Mississippi's new MFA program in creative writing. He is now an instructor of English at the University of Mississippi; he is also the poetry editor of Yalobusha Review, the university's literary journal. His poems have appeared in Poetic Hours, Parnassus, The Oxford American, Poem, and Tundra. Mr. Bourgeois's chapbook Through the Cemetery Gates has been published by Q.Q. Press of Scotland. He has said that his poems "represent a mind that is trying to come to terms with a world that is indifferent to all things."
