Country Music Played In College
His interjections were becoming
irritating. I mean, it was
getting to the point where he
was making too many points, Linn
gazed at the moon as the night
cooled the summer day down. Her
roomie Linda quoted Socrates.
Know thyself. Linn got pissed,
your solo is rarely worth a cent,
and you never make the beds. Linn
added, and you're a ton of lard.
Linda quoted some other portent,
to each her own. And lisped, why
don't ya go down some damn yellow
brick road or whatever? Obviously,
a fight was needed because Jimmy
called and said, Linn, you're near-
mythical, historic, and invaluable
to me, and I'm sorry I screwed up
screwing that waitress from Denny's.
Linn goes, I'll take your apology
seriously. But, in the mean time,
I'll go back to undiminished gospel
and hoot at the passage of time.
