Chapter 1 - It starts out

"This sucks!" Alexandra groaned, plunking down onto her bed.

"You're telling me," I muttered. I knew it was too good to be true. Hanson was actually coming to our city, and we were first in line for tickets. But unfortunately, the stupid ticket clerk decided to be fair. At least, that's what HE thought.

Everyone in line had to pick a number, and even though we had been waiting for five hours, we still got the last number. Well, not the last last number, we were right in front of an old woman and her dog. She thought it was the line for bus tickets.

Okay, so we were last. And guess what? We never got tickets. The concert had very limited seating, and before that old woman's dog could bark at me for trying to pet it, tickets were sold out. I never realized that there were that many Hanson fans in Chicago, since most kids we knew only bought Hanson shirts to vandalize them, then happily wear them in public, displaying Ike, Tay, and Zac's face with horns and pointy beards.

Alexandra and I weren't Hanson-obsessors or anything, we were just hooked on their great melodies and catchy lyrics...so we wanted to see them in concert.

Just to get a picture of what we look like...we both have light freckles, and similar build. She has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, while I have sandy blonde hair and green eyes. I'm 2 inches taller than her, being 5'8". We had been best friends since our first day of kindergarten. Alex is 15 and I'm 16, almost 17. She started school really early. Then in second grade, our parents decided to take us out of school to homeschool us. According the them, public school would spoil our minds, and they didn't want us to have to deal with peer pressure. That worked out great, we loved being together. We were brought up like sisters, even though after our first year of homeschooling together, our parents hired a private tutor so that they could commit to work, so we didn't see them very often.

Now, on with our story as Hanson ticket-free teenagers.
