Do you ever want something so bad, and you come so close to getting it, but then it's just out of your reach? Talk about unlucky...Alexandra and I tried calling every radio station in Chicago that we could think of in hopes of getting tickets to the Hanson concert, but it seemed to be hopeless.
Our friends Megan and Samantha were right in front of us in line, and just as we stepped up to buy the tickets, they pulled down the "SOLD OUT" sign. Alex and I burst into tears.
"Now I'll never see Ike!" I wailed.
"Who cares about Ike!," Alex said, "I'll never get to see Tay!"
We were so depressed that we just sat in Alex's room all day, moping around about not getting the tickets.
We decided to take our minds off of the concert by going online. We logged on and joined a chat room, and typed in, 'Does anyone here like Hanson, if you do, IM us'. A few moments later we received an Instant Message. Here is how it went: (Note: Dreamer4 and TTown3 are completely fictional and made up screen names! They're not real!)
Dreamer4: Hi! There's actually two of us here, one 17 and one 15, both blonde females. What about you?
TTown3: There's two of us here too, 15 and 17 blonde males!
Dreamer4: Oh, cool! So do you like Hanson?
TTown3: I guess you could say that
Dreamer4: We like Hanson--they're music's great, and Ike and Tay are really hot
TTown3: Really?
Dreamer4: Yeah. So what are your names? If you don't feel comfortable, it's okay if you don't want to tell us, but first names are all right.
TTown3: Our names are....well...
Dreamer4: Yeah? You don't have to say if you don't want to...
TTown3: I'm Jordan and my brother's Clarke...he's sitting right her next to me.
Dreamer4: Cool! I'm Alexandra and my friend Jenn is right here too. What's up with you guys?
TTown3: Nothin' much. How about you?
Dreamer4: We're actually not to happy at the moment. We didn't get tickets to the Hanson concert :o(
TTown3: Oh...sorry.....did you really want to go?
Dreamer4: Of course! Who wouldn't want to see Tay and Ike?! Like we said before, they are very hot.
TTown3: You don't think they look like girls?
Dreamer4: They do NOT look like girls! That's what my cousins say.
TTown3: Ha...we don't think they look like girls either.
Dreamer4: Good....because they don't! Oh no...sorry we have to sign off now because we're going laser tagging tomorrow and it's pretty late now.
TTown3: Okay, bye!
Dreamer4: Bye, you sound really nice by the way
TTown3: You do too! Cya l8ter!
So that's how it went. But even the possiblity of those guys being Hanson had never even entered out minds.
