Dowell Ghost Hunters Society

The Dowell Ghost Hunters Society formed on Febuary 13th, 1999 when we were talking about true ghost stories that happened to us. When I asked them if they wanted to go to the cemetary and take pictures they said "yes". The group consists of {the leader of the group}, Preston Philippe {recording specialist}, and Charles Cobin {camera specialist}. On our first ghost hunt we went to a old barn were a old man hung himself. We left th house at 12:57a.m and got to the barn at 1:47a.m. When I took a picture nothing happened, but when Charles took his Preston and I thought we saw a figure by the side of the barn. We will put the picture as our main image if it turns out to be a ghost. On Febuary 14th, 1999, Preston and I went to an old indian bural ground and took some pictures. I don't think we got anything, but the strange thing is that the wind was blowing really hard and when we got there it totaly stoped! So I think something interesting really happened that night. Please e-mail me if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them for you. Update: We are going to go to a covered bridge where you can here a woman riding in her horse and buggy. When she goes across the bridge you can here her crash and fall down the bridge. We are going to try to get an EVP and put it on this page if we get something!

Things To Bring On A Ghost Hunt:

• 1. A 35mm camera with 400 or 800 speed film.
• 2. A flashlight.
• 3. A first aid kit, because someone can get hurt.
• 4. A recorder, to listen for sounds of ghost, and to make personal notes.
• 5. Extra batteries. In case the ones you have go out.
• 6. A wrist watch. So you can see the time to log it in the tape recorder or notebook.
• 7. Candles and matches. To see what you are doing in case the batteries go out.
• 8. A cell phone. To call someone in case of an emergency.
• 9. Warm clothes. So you can focus on what you are doing.
• THINGS TO DO ON A GHOST HUNT:
• 1. Don't wear perfume or cologne. Because ghosts often use oders to tell you that they are there.
• 2. Walk around the graveyard for about 20 minutes so the ghosts can get a feel for you.
• 3. It doesn't hurt to talk to the graves
• 4. Don't have double flashes because when you take a picture it will look like a ghost or ectoplasm.
• 5. Clean the camera lense so when you take a picture it doesn't look like a orb.
• 6. Do not load film until you are done walking around and ready to take pictures or the ghosts may not come out. {they don't know what you are doing so if you walk around the graveyard for awile they will get a feel for you and then they will know what you are doing when you load your film}
• 7. If it is cold outside donot breath and then take a picture because your breath will look like ectoplasm
